How do I apply makeup properly?

Iv'e seen alot of hot girls around that have thick black eyeliner on their eyes and it looks amazing, but when I try it, it ends up smudging and looking terrible. Am I doing something wrong? What do I need and what do I need to do in order to obtain this really nice look? Please don't say, Oh you don't need makeup! Because im not gonna listen. Can someone help me with this? Or at least give me a website with tips on how to apply the thick look?How do I apply makeup properly?
first make sure the area is clean pretty well and oil free, with good soap or eye make up cleansers.


then never use liquid eyeliner if ur hand is not steady ...and if its ur first time using it.


so go with a nice soft pencil and follow the shape of your eye...start from the inner eye and go out.

go with a pencil not liquid, way easier, and practice at night, and wash it off and practice again. make sure your face is clean, and you use a little bit of powder etc, on your eyes and go over your lid with a light colour so it has something to stick to
if you don't do well with stick eyeliner, try liquid! it takes a while to get used to but once you get used to it you can do it with your eyes closed. put the eyeliner at the bottom of your lashes and at the top of your eyelid....in the beginnning i had to hold down my eyelashes with one hand and apply with the other because i couldn't keep my eyeclosed and still long enough. Good luck! it takeS ALOT of practice, but after it dries liquid eyeliner doesn't smudge!!!
Almay black liquid eyeliner. When you put it on, close your eye and pull your eyelid out to the corner to make it into a nice straight line and then apply the liner as close as possible to your lashline. You can make it as thick of a line or as thin as you want.


With a little practice, this should give you the look you are going for.

What i use is a black pencil and i apply it to the inner lids on my bottom lid. i dont wear it on my top lid. then use a little spongy thing (lol) and gently smear it down so it is thicker and more smoky looking. then apply dark gray eyeshadow for an amazing smoky look. good luck!
I personally think pencil liner is the best for the look you want, so don't use liquid.. just keep practicing applying it I guess. When you put it on, stand close to the mirror you are using and go slow until you are better at putting it on, and try to get the liner close to where you want it.
Go to a make-up store or Macy's and go to any make-up department. They will show you the correct way for sure! Good Luck!
