I know people usually revere their MAC brushes, but which one can I use to line and apply shadow and blend? Also, has anyone used any of the Lise Watier brushes? Their handles are shorter, and that makes them more portable. How about the Shiseido brushes? Are there any other brands that any of you would recommend? Keep in mind, I'm looking for a single brush that does it all--apply liner and shadow and blending.Which makeup brush is the best for both applying liner and shadow?
My favourite brushes are relatively inexpensive (around $10-$20 per brush) and they are simply amazing. They are by Quo (a shoppers drug mart brand), and are available (obviously) from Shoppers. I actually have a full set of Mac brushes, and completely prefer these above them.
I would highly recommend going to go check them out at least, and right now all brushes are 20% off at Shoppers.

Oh, and also, as was iterated previously, if you want your make-up to look good, then you will need to buy more than one brush. At least you could get away with 2 or 3 brushes, for my eyes alone I use 7 brushes. Sonia Kashuk has some very soft and travel sized brushes that are very cute :)

theres no point wasting your money on expensive makeup brushes. as long as they are soft any brand will do. u can just get them at drug stores, make sure they are soft. i use expensive makeup, but i use cheap makeup tools
Hi Jessica, I hate to disappoint you, but I do not think that you can use the same brush for lining and shadow. You do not need to purchase expensive brushes, but make sure that the bristles are secure and not coming loose. These can be purchased at your drug store counter. Use shampoo to wash them on a regular basis and they will give you long service.
I use a very tiny brush, maybe 1/4 inch bristles, for lining and a bigger shaped one for shadow. I find for me, that the short handled ones are harder to use. The ones that come with your shadow are usually no good.
I have years of experience with trying out different products and much has been trial and error. :) Hope this is helpful.
Don't spend too much money on a brush but don't buy one that is bad quality and too cheap. I suggest brushes from The Body Shop because they are very soft and work really well. For eyeliner you want a soft semi flexible brush. I have this one and it works really well:

This brush is especially good for doing a smoky eye.
For eyeshadow the brush does not have to be of as good quality. The difference is that sometimes the lesser quality brushes can be more difficult to use or can create uneven application. Softer and looser brushes are better because they don't concentrate the color as much but give a light and natural feel. A good everyday eyeshadow brush would be:

The only way to have a single brush to do both is to get a double ended brush. Stila has several brushes that may fit the bill.
I use three different brushes - one to apply, press on shadow/pigment, two to blend in colors/crease/highlighter, and a tiny brush to line wet w/eyeshadow, or smudge a line I've already applied.
drug stores lk CVS have good ones i love mine they r by lk all the hair brushes i think. The angle brush is wut i use to put on liner they sell a set that you can buy for lk 4 bucks that willl have one for liner and one for shadow! =]

Any tips for applying eye makeup on Asian eyes?
The key to Asian eyes is that generally they're a lot smaller than that of their American counterparts, so to make your eyes look a lot bigger you have to focus on your lashes, because nice full lashes really make your eyes stand out and make them seem a lot bigger than they really are. That said, go with Shiseido. They're very famous for their eye makeup and I think their products are perfectly designed for Asians. Their mascara is a very good investment, especially the one with the small brush because it's so incredibly easy to apply, and even if your lashes are very short the mascara manages to make them look very voluminous and long. When your lashes are separated and fanned out, your whole eye brightens up.
Once you've got the eyelashes down, I'd recommend using a very light but shimmery color and apply that as a base on your eyelid. Don't go overboard and apply it all the way to your brow bone--I'd say just apply where your eyeball is when your eyes are closed. A nice gold or silver works very well. It brightens up your eyes and once again, makes them seem bigger and much more lively. The rest of the eyeshadow depends on what you're wearing and how you want to match with your outfit. But pretty much any color works well. If you just want the light shimmer then that ends up looking very pretty too.
Oh and another recommendation is a good eyelash curler. Shiseido is the best. Shu Uemura is very famous for their curlers but this brand is a lot harder to find in the US, unless you order online. I'd say stick with Shiseido because their counters can be found in pretty much every department store. I bought the curler for around $13-15 and the mascara goes for $21. It'll cost a pretty penny but it lasts a long time and I think it's really the best deal for Asian eyes. :)Any tips for applying eye makeup on Asian eyes?

i would only put eyeliner on the outter part of the top lid dark.and black mascar thats all youll need.
for eyeliner make the line thicker toward the outer part of your eye and thinner the closer you get to your nose
use liquid eyeliner mostly on the top but a little on the bottom.
practice makes perfect
just figure out what effect you want and try to achieve it and then try to duplicate it
black mascara on top lashes black eyeliner on bottom ild.
Avoid heavy shadow.
If any use one color like a light frost or golden frost cream only along top lid, do not pass the crease in your top lid.
Keep it simple.
Try squinting when you do it...
put some eyeliner on the crease so it makes your eyes look smaller and sexier( in a subtle way)
Hmm... I think that depends on what look you're aiming for. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the super-smokey eyeshadow look on Asian eyes. And unless you have very pink skin, I'd stay away from the blues and greens. Invest in a good mascara, with a good brush, and you won't have to bother with eyelash crimpers. I use Fresh Supernova, and I love it.

I'm not Asian, but I'm half Finish, and they are descended from the Mongols, so I have stick straight hair, and my eyelashes have no curl at all.
I bought a new eyelash curler that doesn't have any plastic on the sides, so it fits the eye better, the older style ones were like a box your eyelashes all had to fit within, and it was too curved for my eye.
I here Shi Uemura is supposed to have a nice one out, but I just bought a cheapy from Ulta. You might try Sephora.
Speaking of Shi Uemura, maybe that makeup would be a good idea, I think he is Japanese there is a chance it could already be balanced for your skin type/tone?

Finally I use mascara and heat up my eyelash curler with a hair dryer to have long lasting curls.

First and foremost, a CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN face, and a good moisturizer.

3. Apply a base foundation .. like maybelline matte mousse.
4. smooth the base foundation in .

6. Smooth it all over your face. make sure you put equal amounts of each side of your face.
For eye shadow, blush, and concealer, use fingers! It turns out a lot more natural-looking.
Concealer, foundation, powder. Very light, and to get a more translucent look with coverage, apply liquid foundation with a damp sponge. Always make sure that your face and neck are the same color. We dont wanna look like you fell face first into flour.

1) First you moisturize
2) Then you apply your foundation primer, if you have one.
3) Then you apply foundation
4) Concealer
5) If using liquid foundation, you use a powder to set your foundation. If not using liquid foundation, you skip this step.
6) Blush / Bronzer (Or both. But usually you apply Bronzer before Blush)
7) If contouring, then this is when you contour your face.
8) Highlight your cheeks, if you want to.
So yeah, thats it. Usually you wouldn't use all of those at the same time, so if you wouldn't use that one product, just skip that step and go to the next one.

the great thing about makeup is you can pretty much do it however you want, you just gotta get the hang of perfecting it. sometimes i wear one eyeshadow and sometimes i wear 4. i put the lightest/brightest right above the eyelashes, the darkest on the crease to create a dramatic shadow effect. a color between those two on the majority of my lid above the crease. and i use a really pale cream under my brows to make them stand out.
if you have smaller eyes you should only put eyeliner on the outer corners of your eyes, i use a pencil and a black powder on the corners to make my eyes pop and look bigger. if you have bigger eyes or are content with their size then you can line the entire top and bottom. again its really personal preference.
i dont use a curler, but most people dont know that you need to heat up a metal eyelash curler with a blowdryer or hot water before you use it. plastic ones do not work!
be sure to start using mascara from the inside and keep stroking it from the roots to the end, and work your way to the outer eye. if you like more than one coat be sure to do it before the first coat dries or you will regret it!

I have brown eyes and i was told purple is the color to make brown eyes pop!!
I apply a white type colored powder in the corner of eyes! the corner closest to my nose, then a dark purple liner lightly on the bottom half, and real heavy on the top half! then with a q-tip i smug the top line onto my eye lid more! then i use a lighter purple on my lid to the crease! then i smug a little brown shadow in my crease....then mascara!

I am 17 years old and prefer a more natural look. I never wear any make up. For the prom last year, my aunt put some on me and I noticed an definite improvement in my looks. What advice would you have for applying it? What types should I buy? What kind should I buy?

I have pale skin, blue eyes, and brown hair so were pretty similar! What works for me will probably work pretty well for you :)
What I do is when I have an uneven skin-tone or blemishes, I wear some foundation and concealer. This doesn't mean you need to glob it on. Just put on what you need. Foundation on the uneven, red parts of skin on your face to even the color out. Concealer under your eyes and where any blemishes are (it will NOT completely cover a blemish but will significantly help the appearance so don't keep rubbing it on if it's not totally covering the redness of the pimple. it never will completely! It should significantly improve it's look though). I'd apply the foundation with a foundation sponge which will make it apply evenly to your skin. Then use concealer after the foundation where you still need it.
I definitely don't recommend brushes for applying foundation or concealer because it makes you look really streaky. I've tried them and I really look better using a foundation spounge for both. They're cheaper and easier to clean, too (you'll need to replace them every month or so, though).
Also, never use powder unless your onstage or something! Powder will make you look dry and pale. It's a very matte look and rather unattractive. Dew-y and glowing skin is much more natural looking and much more attractive. Unless you have very oily skin, don't use powder. A little shine is better than what powder can look like!
For blush (since foundation can wash you out) I use a rosy cream blush on the apples of my cheeks (a little goes a LONG way, by the way) and then rub it outwards along the cheek bone. You'd be surprised how much blush can improve your appearance! It will really brighten your eyes and give you a healthy, cheerful look. I'd advise applying it right after foundation and concealer or first if your not wear foundation or concealer because you'll find you don't need as much other products with it on. I recommend cream blush over powder because it stays on longer and doesn't give you a fake-y matte look, but a dewy glow! I've used both and I found I like cream blush more. You can just apply it with the tips of your fingers and rub it in!
For eyes I either use a VERY LITTLE amount of black or brown eyeliner (not liquid, too risky if I do mistakes and looks to harsh and unnatural!) and then curl my lashes, or I use mascara and curl my lashes. It's an either-or thing since I have naturally long lashes and if I do both it looks like way too much but using one or the other usually looks really nice. Make sure to apply the eyeliner as close to your lashes and eye as possible and make sure your not applying a thick line (keep the pencil sharpened to your not making it harder on yourself!). Eyeliner is the hardest to make look natural but it can really make your eyes pop and give you thick-appearing lashes! Only apply it to your upper lip and if you want a really nice look, start at the beginning of your lashes near the corner of your eye and then keep going outward and let it get a bit thicker (only a little!) that usually makes your eyes look big and really cute, but only if you gradually increase - it takes a long time to get it right and I do it every day! If you decided to use mascara instead, always curl your lashes FIRST! Never after! You'll get a harsh crease in your lashes if you do it after! You can also pull your lashes out that way (it happened to my mom, they grew back, though). Curl you lashes for a few seconds starting at the base and working up (holding it for a few seconds, like 10, each time) and then apply mascara from base to tip, epecially on the outer corner. Don't put it on the bottom lashes, it looks odd and it will run and make you look like a raccoon!
Then I use a light pink eyeshadow or none (I have blue eyes). Sometimes I use a beige or beige and pink combination which works too. I don't recommend a bronze color. Beige or(/and) pink are very cute and natural looking!
Then I usually don't wear anything on my lips since I've found that guys really don't like it. If I do I definitly DON'T wear lip gloss or red lipstick. Both look very fake/plastic-y and lip gloss is really annoying to both myself and guys (I know that sounds kind of superficial, worrying about what guys think, but, really, I think it's worth pointing out!) If I wear anything I wear a light pink/rose-y or coral lipstick or I wear a tinted lip balm (i recommend Pink by VS's lip balms. Especially the one called ';Happy';. It's a rosy, light pink that is really natural and pretty. tastes and smells good, too! I LOVE it!!! It's only about 7 dollars and they sell it at Bath and Body Works, too!)
I know that might sound like a lot of products but it really comes out natural looking if you don't apply a lot.
Practice makes perfect, you won't get the perfect look right away but you'll learn from mistakes. Have your aunt or mom help you with application because they'll be able to help suit your particulair look.
As far as make-up brands go, it's usually worth it to spend a little more on it so that you look nice and not tacky - which can happen easily with drug store brands when you can't try them on to see if they match your skin tone! I recommend Clinique and Est茅e Lauder for the natural look. You can go cheap on eyeliner and get a 99-cent Wet'n'Wild black eyeliner stick that works well, though! And a drugstore eyelash curler is good too. I recommend getting blush, foundation, and concealer from a department store brand like the ones I mentioned, though, because those are the most important to get a quality color that matches you, if you can afford it. You can skimp on the rest if you get pastel colors :) I trust Avon and Maybelline. And wet'n'wild ONLY for it's eyeliner because it applies so smoothly and is such a nice, pure black color!

Okay you should get a brown/black eyeliner instead. It looks more natural. You shouldn't get just brown though cause your hair is black and that would look weird. And only apply it to your upper lid above your lash line. You don't need any on the bottom. I stopped wearing black eyeliner on my bottom water line cause it would smear all over and by the end of the day I looked terrible. And pencil eyeliners look more natural than liquid. I prefer automatic pencils.
Wear goldens and browns for eyeshadows. Nothing bright and funky looking.
Wear a light pink gloss. Something sheer. And put some light blush on your cheeks too.

Eyeshadow: CoverGirl EyeEnhancers. (They last forever)
Lipgloss: Maybelline Shine Seduction- I think? It's really pretty. I also can't stand MAC's lipglass. It's super sticky and get all gross on my lips.

Also, I highly do not recommend any CoverGirl face products. Like foundation, powder, or concealer. They make my face look cakey and pastey and disgusting and they get all dry and flakey. I hate all of their face products. They're horrible. But their eyeshadows and mascaras are great!
use the kinds u would find at walmart or something. they work! and ok, if u have brown eyes and brown hair and u want to look natural, then just put on a little blue liner on ur bottom eyelid and a little black mascara. and just brush a little rosy blush on with a round brush. try it :)

use covergirl or avon products! they are amazing! use cover up or foundation. the use a brown light gold or light pink eye shadow. a little mascara maybe some eyeliner and a light pink lip gloss.
I don't usually wear make-up either, but ive noticed a similar thing .
For a more natural look, find a foundation very similar to your skin tone, maybe only a fraction darker. This will help your skin look clearer, but not fake.
Buy a blush that is fairly light, not like you would wear it for performing, but so it still gives your face some colour. Sometimes, if you wear foundation without blush or a light bronzer on your cheeks, it can make your face look colourless or pale.
For your lips, lipstick is nice - but i think our generation are more into lipgloss. I prefer lipgloss too, it is shiny, and comes in many colours, even clear, and you can even buy them with 'lip plumpers' to make your lips a little bigger.
Eyes are a very important part in makeup.
- Some people do not wear eyeliner, they feel it just doesnt suit them, but if you do want some, it comes in a range of shades. If you want it to be noticable but still subtle, you couldnt go wrong with a brown. But if you want a darker and more noticable colour, go with a black. I personally apply it to the bottom of my eye, but some people apply it to the top, or both. It all depends on your preferences.
- Mascara is a very basic makeup that most people love to wear. It also comes in a brown, or a range of bright colours, but it looks best in black . Again, some people apply it only to their top eyelashes, but if you want to go all out, it also looks great on both.
When it comes to buying them, brand names dont really matter. If you find a foundation that you feel looks good on your skin, and has a good texture ( there are mouses, powders, creams, whipped ) then that is what you should buy. It is all about what you feel looks good on you, and that you would feel comfortable wearing and applying. Feel free to try the testers. :)

I don't know how much money you can spend but a really great foundation is Make Up For Ever either Mat Velvet + which I use along with the Duo Mat powder, but you can use one or the other. Also the HD foundation I hear is really good, that is what I am going to try next. It gives full coverage without looking like you have a lot of makeup on. And if you do get a liquid foundation (i don't usually like liquid but Make Up For Ever is absoluley the best makeup ever) get a MAC 187 brush. The brush really make you look like you have a flawless face. I don't really like to look like I am wearing much makeup either so I would say go with neutral eyeshadow. I have dark brown hair and brown eyes and browns are good and plum colors look good also. With brown eyes we are pretty lucky any color will make our eyes look good. I would definitely get a mascara too. I really like Dior's Diorshow and Benefit Bad Gal. But a new and less expensive mascara that I just tried and love is Maybelline's new Colossal mascara.
I wear a lot of different products but it looks natural. For blush I use Benefit's Dandelion or just get any pale blush. I also use a highlighter- N.Y.C. Mosaic highlighter its cheap but it gives a nice subtle natural glow to your skin.
And then get a lip gloss.
You don't have to have eyeliner or bronzer and all of that. Just the basics. A good foundation is important and everything else like shadows etc the quality of makeup is really similar. You can get a nice neutral shadow quad from covergirl or maybelline and if you want a shadow base I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance or Urban Decay Primer Potion but a cheaper and quality base is L'Oreal Decrease. I'm 27 so I'm trying to take into consideration that at 17 you may not be able to spend 17 bucks for a shadow primer. And you can always use concealer as a shadow base too.
Anyway....1.)Good Foundation (I like make up for ever, but covergirl and maybelline if you can find your shade those are fine.) 2.) a neutral quad (maybelline has a quad that shows you what color goes where) 3.) Mascara 4.) Lip gloss 5.) Blush (pale pink shade-get a nice blush brush Sonya Kashuk has good brushes and they can be found at Target or go to eyelipsface.com they have a nice brush set and everything is $1, apply to the apples of your cheaks.)

If you need help applying makeup go to YouTube.com there is a huge makeup community that does tutorials etc. Go to youtube and search for xteener, MakeupByTiffanyD and xsparkage...those are some of my favorites and a good place to start.

That's what I thought when I first saw all the flawless makeup in magazines. But it is normally done by professionals who have had year and years of experience. And everybody skin if different so you can't always expect it to turn out the exact same as the picture or persons makeup is. Go to a makeup store( or even the makeup people in your mall) and ask them what to do and how to do your makeup however you are wanting it.Applying the eye makeup you see on the models in tv and magazine?
Mac has the only black eyeshadow that will actually show up black. They also have the easiest applicator on their liquid eyeliner, which will help with the dramatic smokey look. You will need another black color as well, the covergirl black sparkling one is perfect. You need a silver too, the only one I've seen is at Estee Lauder but Im sure with all of the bright new eye colors at walmart by Hip and Maybelline you should be able to find one. And a light creme or white (found anywhere). Start with the silver all over the eye, then follow with the lighter covergirl black from the middle up to the crease, then following your crease towards your nose. Then use the Mac black to start on the outer corners of the eye. head at an upward away from the nose angle until just past the crease then fill in any space in between that and the lighter black (the darkest black will make a v shape that the point of the v will point towards the end of your eyebrow- best way I could think to explain it). I wish I could just show you a picture. Finally take the white and highlight just underneath the brow to make it extra dramatic. Then line the eyes with a black liquid liner (better for drama), and top it all off with mascara. To accentuate it a little better add another dash of silver on the inside corner of the eyes. and WALA~ i think thats how its spelled
One final pointer, black is the worst about getting underneath your eyes and making it look like you put eyeshadow on your dark circles. While applying dark eyeshadows, hold a folded tissue right underneath your bottom lash line to prevent this.

What are the Key Steps to Applying Makeup?
1 - It is important to start out with a good surface mantle so take care of your skin (wash, moisturize, etc)
2 - Know your skin type. Go to a department store and have a pro do a makeover or give you some tips. Only shop at a drugstore if you *know* the products that will not make you look orange or yellow. Listen to a pro. This in no way means you have to buy anything - in fact: don't. You are on an information-gathering mission so just Insist on samples. The point is you want to know the exact shade of foundation, highlighter or concealer that will work for you.
3- I am a firm believer in not just using one thing. I suggest a primer, a highlighter, a concealer (if need be) and a finishing powder. I don't use a bronzer and blush type is optional. If applied with finesse you won't look like a kabuki doll lol.
You also want opinions of the texture of base/foundation or concealer that will work for you based on your skin type, life style and most important: climate. I live in a humid climate so hardly any of the make-up I used in the Rockies would suffice :C

It really depends on the maturity level of the girl, what she's into and what kind of make-up she's looking to wear. Sometimes if you help a girl look and feel pretty at a young age, she ends up being more confident and successful throughout life. I'm not saying that girl that don't wear make up don't end up being successful or confident, but this is more for hte parents who don't LET their kids wear make-up until their 18 or whatever. They should wear make-up when they get to the point where they WANT to. They'll want to when their friends and and when they're comfortable themselves with the idea. If you don't let them at this point then they'll feel uncomfortable because there is now a huge barrier between them and their friends.
When they do wear make-up at a young age, you should take into account what they want the make-up for. They may have a lot of blemishes (depending on what age they start wearing the makeup at) and if they're uncomfortable with that, they'd want that covered. Other than that I think anyone under 17 doesn't need more than some fun eyeshadow, cute gloss and mascara once they're more like 14-16. It's really a personal thing. Some girls are naturally all into the make-up while others aren't sure how to approach the idea. It's really about them being comfortable and feeling as beautiful as they can. Wearing more than their comfortable with won't make them pretty because they won't feel right.

I would say 13 or 14 is an acceptable age but it all depends on when the girl is responsible enough to handle it.

I just bought a latex pig nose, and spirit gum to apply it, but what I'm wondering is will I be able to use regular foundation to blend it in to get a professional look, or do I need to buy other products? for a real professional look, by a few tubes of the liquid latex more than likely sold right next to the pig nose, you probably passed it up because it looked weird or odd. basically, you want to sponge on this latex over the nose of the prosthetic and your skin for a truely flawless look. Just make sure you are not allergic to latex!.
Once there, you can use any make up to blend your skin into the pignose. just remember the pig nose will not absorb the makeup into pores like your skin does, be somewhat sparing on the latex, otherwise you will look like you smeared it. For the night out, make sure you wear tons of powder, more than you think is natural, without the tons of powder, your makeup on your skin will wear off leaving the pignose to stand way out and look unnatural.

You just need some good instruction. Tutorials are ok but they don't give you a complete look from start to finish of the application process. Also, if you want to work at a makeup counter you're going to need to know how to apply makeup to any face and know the different techniques and styles. It's not overwhelming you just need the right course. You could go to private school for this or there are home courses that go through everything from start to finish. I work as a makeup artist now and I started with The Event Makeup Artist, it's really great at going through every single detail.

Blush should be blended well from apples of cheeks beside nose (smile and you'll see them) sweeping up to cheekbones.
Layer a medium to light color eyeshadow over entire lid of eye up to crease. Blend a darker shade into the crease starting from the outside corner of your eye about halfway in. The darker shading in the crease should just be visible when your eye is open. You can also highlight with a lighter shade just under the brow.
Mascara is easy. Just brush wand from base of eyelashes to tips until the desired thickness/length is reached. Eyeliner along the underside of your lash line will help define your eyes anymore. i also have a seperate blusher and concealer brush.

Honey I used to work for benefit!
With the boi-ing it's a really good industrial strength concealer... meaning it's really good for blemishes, large pores (it also has antibacterial ingredients in it!) or really dark circles under your eyes, I apply it underneath the foundation with a concealer brush just a little bit at a time and build it up. Then I apply the some kinda gorgeous foundation with the sponge it comes. I start by getting a little bit on the sponge and just dabbing it on the face from nose out not forgetting the eyelids the neck and a little bit on the ears so it looks natural and your not left with lines!
The coralista is a gorgeous color but you only need a little bit or else it will go a bit white so after tapping off the excess powder i circled it along the cheekbones and you can put a little bit on your forehead and along the jaw..
Bad gal lash is fab with such a big brush! I roll the brush up the lashes, from the root to the tips!

Get enough foundation to put a dot on your nose, fore head, chin, a dot on both cheeks. then start blending each dot into your face and once it is blended enough i always use my hands to apply foundation
Conceler dab ring finger in it then dab along the bottom of your eyes until it looks good, then put a bit that needs it like a scar from a spot or something
Mascara
Tip your head back and take mascara wand to lashes and wiggle your head from side to side quickly like your saying no. This may look stupid but it stops the mascara from catching your skin and from clumping the lashes as much.

only put on the foundation when your skin looks really bad.
Put on the mascara to make your eyelashes look bigger
but don't put on too much blusher otherwise your cheeks will look like two big red ballssexy hair

okay what i do is if i use liquid foundation i mix it with a little bit of oil free moisturizer and apply it with a foundation brush like this one (http://www.beautycheap.com/shop/images/f鈥?/a>
also, don't use your fingers. the oils from them clog your pores and that is what can cause acne. just take the brush and a foam make up sponge like this (http://images.jupiterimages.com/common/d鈥?/a> swipe on a small amount of foundation on each cheek, your forehead, nose, and chin. then blend in evenly with the sponge. make sure that you blend everywhere like into your jawline and hair line... this will prevent foundation lines.
if youre going to use powder then read this:
usually if im using powder i want my skin to look replenished and not dry. so i start with a base of oil free moisturizer and rub it all over my face. next i use a blemish stick to cover up pimples, red spots etc. (also, do this if your using liquid foundation) then next i take a full powder brush like this one (http://www.beautycheap.com/shop/images/p鈥?/a> and apply powder to it, then sweep in an upward motion starting at my jaw and eventually ending up at my forehead. make sure that you don't use to much powder or liquid foundation though. natural is key.
one more thing: invest in good brushes. they can really make or break a make up look. (they have good ones that aren't that expensive at Sephora.com)

I think Chanel do the best foundation- you can get ones which don't appear shiny too, and they prove extremely subtle and last all day. Their foundations provide great coverage without making you look orange. You won't have the 'patchy' problem you get with other foundations.
Although some people use brushes, i prefer using fingers as you don't end up 'caking' your face, and it's easier to blend. Make sure you moisturise beforehand so it runs on smoothly.
I know the foundations are quite expensive, but i think they are worthwhile investments. Unlike eyeliners, a good foundation really shows and they last ages too!

I think It should go after eyeliner, if you are using any... and before the eyeshadow, so you don't smudge it while you're applying the false eyelashes.

my nose and chin are often very oily so i have to apply powder after first putting on my makeup in the morning to set it, and through out the day to keep from looking oily, but when doing that on the dry skin it makes it looked caked on. Try a good gentle exfoliator. I use one that is a cleanser/scrub all in one. It is so gentle yet works amazing. It's made by Clarins it has real orange extract in it so your getting the benefits of Vitamin C as well. It is great. I have been using it for over a year and my skin has never looked or felt better. It is a bit expensive but you only use like the size of a chocolate chip so the tube lasts for ever. I have worked in the skin care industry and as a make-up artist for years and I recommend this scrub to all my clients and I would never recommend a product that I wouldn't use myself. Hope you try it girl it's amazing.

Sound weird but some people will brush teeth in the am and then put on make-up. The toothpaste will dry you out. So re-wash the area again. Good luck.

Cleanse , tone %26amp; moisturize . Let the moisturizer absorb in the skin . Then apply liquid foundation in your skin tone , then loose powder , then powder blusher , then eye makeup , then lip colour .

Now with bare essencutuals I love to wear make up :) Do not use soap and water to clean your face. Most soaps are harsh and will produce more oil or the opposite and will dry your skin. There's this foundation called bare minerals and it has something called mineral veil that absorbs oils. It works for me.
Mary Kay has a great oil absorbing foundation, Medium Coverage. Also beauty blotters are like small pieces of tissue paper that you can carry in your purse for a touch up. Powder is also good to touch up.
As a Sales Director w/MK I would suggest you check your cleanser and moisturizer. So often its what we do BEFORE we put on the makeup that causes the problems with our appearance.
