Is there a different way to apply makeup on men?

as an aspiring makeup artist I haven't applied makeup on men before, but now I have this male client and I feel nervous! should I apply the same makeup application techniques on him, or is there a different way to do it?Is there a different way to apply makeup on men?
Yes, but much less, If he's going to be on t.v. you'll have to match his skin to a foundation and use a very light blush nearest his actual cheek color. Basically what you want to do is keep the shine down with men. I recommend any of Kevyn Aucoin's books, he is a genius.

How do I apply makeup on my self and get the looks like the supper stars?

try gold eyeshadow - you can apply that with your finger

a thin line of black eyeliner under you eye

medium brown (or blue if you've got blue eyes) eyeliner on top

a very very small line of black eyeshadow on top, to highlight the eyeliner

two coats black mascara on top lashes

one coat on bottom

tiny bit loose powder in your shade to prevent shine

a gold or bronze powder on cheeks (very little)

lip balm while applying the rest of makeup

then switch to a gloss that suits you. lipstick can seem harsh unless its a formal event. How do I apply makeup on my self and get the looks like the supper stars?

You need to be more specific, as each star has their own trademark look. But I would say the two main things are:

a white eyeshadow on the inner corner of your eyes. This also works with a white eyeliner and can be blended around. See link below and the pic on the right has the white shadow in the eye corner like I am talking about.

A high shine lipgloss, like Lipglass by MAC.
I get the look of a ';supper star'; by first using spaghetti sauce as war paint. When sufficiently camouflaged, I POUNCE! on my supper, attacking it, tackling it to the kitchen floor. I beat it into submission. Then I cook it. Then I eat it.

Then I, alone, am THE supper star!!!
Who are the supper stars?

What is the correct way to apply makeup? What comes first?

So I grew up without a sister or close female friends. And my mom hardly wears makeup. My skin is very uneven and I've tried different makeups with no avail. The makeup either wears off and I'm left with nothinig at the end of the work day or it looks too powdery. So what comes firs? Foundation, right? And then what?!

HELP!What is the correct way to apply makeup? What comes first?
This is way i put my makeup on...

1. lotion

2. foundation

3. concealer(if you need it)

4. powder

5. blush

6. lip stick

I would suggest getting almay. It works good and is good for your skin. What is the correct way to apply makeup? What comes first?
Foundation

powder

blush

eye makeup

lip gloss
moisturiser should always come in first, then foundation which you should make sure always blends with your skin. Then eyeshadow always before masacara cuz if u wear the mascara first, you'll have a messy job when trying to apply your eyeshadow, then eyeliner if necessary. And of course the lip liner alway, always come before the lip gloss or lip stick. And sweetie your good to go. and always make sure that your eyeshadow compliments your lip stick.
There is no ';correct'; way to apply make-up. Just have fun, and use products in any order :-) Just use the right products for you skin, including concealer, powder, etc. The best foundation to use on your skin is powder, not cream. If you have light/med skin, you can use med/light lipstick and blush. If you wear contacts/none, exclude mascara, eyeshadow, and eyeliner. They cause infections and attract tons of bacteria! Keeping your eyelashes clean and using an eyelash curler is the best, safest and most natural appearance! Natural beauty is skin deep :-)
Well im not an expert but u apply the base /foundation then rub it in til it is smooth as possible then apply the powder its best to use a brush like a makeup brush and use eyeshadow that brings your eyes out.
(1) Cleanse skin

(2) Moisturized w/ something hypoallergenic...I use Aveeno

(3) Concealer...under the eyes, on blemishes, anywhere you want to lighten or blend SMALL imperfections without going overboard.

(3) Foundation...Foundation will help even out your skin tone. If u have sensitive/oily skin use one that's water based like Maybeline Pure...if your skin dries out and is NOT sensitive you could use something that is oil based but I don't recommend it. Powder foundations are good if you have very oily skin otherwise they may make you look chalky. When you use it, apply it all over your face and part of your neck to avoid a line along your jaw. Also, choose a color that is as close to your skin color as possible.

(5) Eyeliner %26amp; Mascara...If your trying not to look like you have a lot of makeup on but still want to use eyeliner and mascara apply eyeliner or dark eyeshadow along your top lash-line only (unless you have extremely light lashes, then you could apply some on the bottom). As far as mascara goes, use an eyelash curler first, sometimes this is enough by itself. But if you are going to use mascara, I would apply some only on the tips of your top lashes for a natural look that makes your eyes pop.

(6) Eyeshadow...look at some pics of makeup that you like of women with similar complexion or eye color. Apply eyeshadow that works with your skin color as well as your eye color. Neutrals always look good. Blues (if done right) look good on brown eyes. Lilacs (again, if done right) looks good on brown and green eyes.

(7) Powder...lightly dust (use a brush, not a pad applicator) powder all over your face.

(8) Blush...Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks and a little bit toward your temples. Use a color that gives you a flushed look, not 80s party girl pink.

(9) Gloss your lips with a complimentary color and your done.

*Make sure you always carry lip gloss, concealer, and powder with you. Also, these tips are very general so they may need to be tested out and adjusted before wearing it out. Something I would also suggest is going to a makeup counter at a department store and having someone there do your makeup. Even if you don't buy the stuff there, wear the makeup to a store that you like and buy closely matching products.
the best thing for u just keep some lip goss
Skincare is always first. The first make-up step is foundation. Then concealer only where you need it and around the eyes. Then lightly powder on top. Next your eyeshadows, crease first, then lid, then brow. Then eyeliner, browliner, then blush, if you use a bronzer, after the blush. Then lipliner, lipstick, and finally mascara. As for uneven skin, just get a good foundation that matches your skin tone and a powder and concealor to match. Try Mary Kay medium coverage foundation. It covers well and smooths the skin beautifully. Also the loose powder and the mk signature concealor or the facial highlighting pen. Click on the link below. Good luck!
moisturizer ( can be oil free)

Foundation or powder ( I love Lancome Dual Finish wet/dry)

Eyebrows pencil

Lipstick liner and lipstick or gloss

Blusher (the BEST is Nars Orgasm)

Eyeline or shadow or both

Eyelash curler

Mascara (Max Factor is the best)
The order is:

1) Facial Lotion

2) Foundation

3) Concealer)

4)Eyeliner, Eye powder or smudge, %26amp; Mascara.

5) Lipstick and/or lipbalm

6) Blush.

I hope that helps!
here is how I do it...

1. Moisturizer, this makes your face smooth and it is easier to apply make up evenly. Try to find an oil free one

2. Liquid Foundation- Use a foundation brush, start from your nose and go outward. This will help with the powdery look.

3. Conceler- if needed, brush on and blend with finger tip

4. Powder- Use a brush- it is much easier and looks smoother.

5. Blush- Roll brush in blush and then smile, apply on the apples of your cheeks.

6. Eye Shadow and Mascara.

7. Lipstick (optional)

I learned these tricks at a makeup counter. Many places in the mall will give you a free consultation. Thier tips are really helpful! Try the perscriptives counter at belk, they are great!

Also, don't buy the cheapest makeup- I use the Loreal True match- It lasts all day and is oil-free, It isn't expensive, but there are cheaper ones that don't work as well.

Also make sure you are using a good makeup remover at night. This can make a huge difference in your skin and how the makeup goes on.

GOOD LUCK!- I'm 23 and I am just now learning the make up that is right for me. I also grew up in a similar situation.
1. lotion

2. eyeliner

3. eyeshadow

4. mascara

5. foundation

6. blush

7. lip liner

8 lip gloss

well.. if this helps you this is the order that i tend to put it on
Facial moisturizer comes first (it might even out your skin tone) then foundation, powder, eyebrow pencil, (when doing eyes, if you are using multiple colors or blending, start from browline and go to eyelash) eyeshadows, eyeliners, mascara, blush and lips!

I don't use all of thes things. Just remember **less is more** You don't want to look like you have too much on. Focus on accentuating what you like about your face. I use subtle colors for the office and then more dramatic when it's time to go out.

When you have time, play around with your make-up!

GOOD LUCK!!
1. foundation

2. cover-up

3. powder

4. blush

5. eye shadow

6. eye liner

7. mascara

8.(optional lip liner) lip-stick or gloss

All of these are optional because I don't know what all you like to wear.....but this is for all makeup so if you don't use one of these...then just skip that step and go on...Hope it helped!!!
Well, you need to have a clean face. Wash with a mild cleanser, use a scrub to remove dead skin and make skin smooth, use a toner to remove any residue and a apply a light moisturizer...this helps the makeup stay fresher longer.

The first thing you want to apply is the foundation. Me personally, I like to use the triangle sponges to apply my foundation. It gives you a more natural look. You can also use a foundation brush also. Make sure that your foundation matches your skin tone. A little goes a long way. The way I apply is I put a dot on my forehead, cheek area and on the jawline. Make sure you blend in very well. Second is the concealer. Take a concealer brush and pat onto the blemish(es) that you want to cover. Third is setting the foundation with a powder. I like loose powder but you can use a pressed powder too. Take a powder brush and lightly dust powder on face to set your foundation. Now, you are ready to apply your eye makeup. I don't know if you wear eyeshadow or not but I usually apply a light shadow over the whole lid and then apply a dark shade in the crease and then a light gold on the brow bone to highlight. I like to use kohl liner and then a volumizing mascara. I use a little powder blush on the apples of my cheeks and then swipe on some gloss...I rarely wear lipstick. I've been wearing makeup a long time and a master at applying it. Its takes practice but you will get it.
1.Cleanser goes on first .2.Exfoliate 3.Mask 4. Toner 5. Moisturizer

Now you start with the makeup

1.Primer

2Concealer

3.Foundation

4.Powder

5.Eyeshadow

6.Eyeliner

7.Blush

8Lipliner

9lipgloss

10 Curl your eyelashes

11.Put mascara on your eyes

Viola your done

Now here are the following tips to do your makeup like an expert

How to apply concealer

Dot dot and dot underneath your eye and blend.

Also heres another tip to help conceal blemishes etc.

Correction of poor skin tones is achieved by using a correcting make-up base: a mauve base can conceal pale and dull skin tones and brighten the skin.A green base masks red blotches and ruddiness. The under-eye concealer camouflages dark circles under the eye. These correcting bases have to be applied before applying foundation. To improve facial features, use is made of the fact that pale shades lengthen, fill out, and brighten, while dark shades reduce, deepen, darken, and conceal. This form of correcting base is applied after the use of basic foundation. These correcting bases are available as liquids, creams and even as pencils

How to apply foundation

Put a little foundation on a makeup sponge (add a complimentary tone if necessary).Dot it over the face-on the nose, the cheeks, the chin and the temples and in between the brows.Using the tips of two fingers or a small clean, dampened sponge(from which excess water has been removed) blend the foundation.Always work from the face outwards, to avoid an accumulation of the foundation around the hairline-move from the cheeks to the ears, from between the brows down over the nose, from the chin out towards the jaw, then onto the neck.Work quickly, carefully and lightly.Blend well around the hairline, on the neck, below the eyes and behind the ears. Also take the foundation over the eyelids. Finally blot the face with a clean dry tissue, pressing it lightly over the skin.

How to apply blush

Use the colour on the blush area which is the apples of your cheek which you can find by smiling . This is the part of the face between parallel lines, one extending outward from the corner of your eye and the second from the bottom of your nose.Smile and lightly touch the blusher brush on the fatty part of the cheek and gently brush the blusher toward the temple, making a slight curve.A touch of colour across the forehead and on the chin cometes the look. The cream rouge is applied to the cheeks with the fingertips in small amounts and spread in the desired fashion. The powder blusher is applied with a brush.

Heres how to apply powder

Make sure the foundationis well blended.Blot the face lightly with a tissue, especially over the forehead, nose and chin.Pick up the powder on the puff and press it firmly on the face, one area at a time.Don't try to smooth it on by massaging the puff over the face. Now using a soft, thick powder brush, whisk away the excess, with downward movement to stop the powder getting caught in the fine facial hair.

Heres how to apply eyeshadow

Using a fine, blunt-ended brush, gently apply the base colour to the entire lid from the inside to the outside corner and from the base of the lashes to the eyelid crease.

ii.If the eyes need extra definition, a deeper shade is blended into the crease line. This gives depth to the eyes.

iii.The brow bone is highlighted with a light shade. This gives the eyes a wide, open look. The colour is applied to the most prominent area and blended up towards the brow and down to where the contour curves down, toward the eyelid creases.

Before using them on the lids, always test the colours on the back of the hand to test the intensity. You can use even 3-4 colours, provided they are blended well.Remember pale tones emphasize, while deep sooty

Heres how to apply Eyeliner

Application Technique For The Liquid EyeLiner:

Test, on the back of your hand, the amount of pressure you should apply.Unless you are a real artist, it is best to steady your elbow on a flat surface.Work from the inside of the eye to the outside corner and keep the line light and even.If you stop at the corner of the eyes, the effect will be round and wide-eyed;if you continue the line and sweep it up and out, you would get a more exotic look. Finally smudge the edges with a cotton bud to soften them.

Application Technique For The Pencil Eyeliner:

Pencils can be used in the same manner to define or extend the shape of the eyes, but they give a softer, more natural line.Keep them sharpened and ready for use, as blunted or broken points can spoil the whole effect.

Heres how to apply Mascara

For best results, first look down and brush the top lashes from the roots downwards, then look up and brush the top lashes upwards. Then still looking up, brush colour on the lower lashes.Wait for a minute for them to dry, and similarly apply a second coat. Finally brush with a clean dry brush, to separate the lashes.

How to use an eyelash curler

Open the curler and place your upper lashes inside its mouth. Close your eye slightly, then open it; all of the lashes should move into the curler's mouth. Always hold the eyelash curler so that the mouth is parallel to your lashes.

Move the curler closer to the eye until the tool comes to the base of the lashes, but not over the skin of the eyelid.

: Keep the eye open and slowly close the curler. Your eyelashes should fan out evenly across the upper bar. If at any time you feel pinching, readjust the curler.

: Hold the closed curler for a slow count of five, keeping your hand and face steady. Repeat for additional volume.

How do I apply makeup properly?

Iv'e seen alot of hot girls around that have thick black eyeliner on their eyes and it looks amazing, but when I try it, it ends up smudging and looking terrible. Am I doing something wrong? What do I need and what do I need to do in order to obtain this really nice look? Please don't say, Oh you don't need makeup! Because im not gonna listen. Can someone help me with this? Or at least give me a website with tips on how to apply the thick look? How do I apply makeup properly?
first make sure the area is clean pretty well and oil free, with good soap or eye make up cleansers.

then never use liquid eyeliner if ur hand is not steady ...and if its ur first time using it.

so go with a nice soft pencil and follow the shape of your eye...start from the inner eye and go out.

hope that helpsHow do I apply makeup properly?
go with a pencil not liquid, way easier, and practice at night, and wash it off and practice again. make sure your face is clean, and you use a little bit of powder etc, on your eyes and go over your lid with a light colour so it has something to stick to
if you don't do well with stick eyeliner, try liquid! it takes a while to get used to but once you get used to it you can do it with your eyes closed. put the eyeliner at the bottom of your lashes and at the top of your eyelid....in the beginnning i had to hold down my eyelashes with one hand and apply with the other because i couldn't keep my eyeclosed and still long enough. Good luck! it takeS ALOT of practice, but after it dries liquid eyeliner doesn't smudge!!!
Almay black liquid eyeliner. When you put it on, close your eye and pull your eyelid out to the corner to make it into a nice straight line and then apply the liner as close as possible to your lashline. You can make it as thick of a line or as thin as you want.

With a little practice, this should give you the look you are going for.

These websites will give you a lot of tips on appling make up. Hope it helps. Have fun with make up and don't try for a look that looks good on someone else apply make up to focus on your best facial features and find the right colors for your eye, skin, and hair colors.
What i use is a black pencil and i apply it to the inner lids on my bottom lid. i dont wear it on my top lid. then use a little spongy thing (lol) and gently smear it down so it is thicker and more smoky looking. then apply dark gray eyeshadow for an amazing smoky look. good luck!
I personally think pencil liner is the best for the look you want, so don't use liquid.. just keep practicing applying it I guess. When you put it on, stand close to the mirror you are using and go slow until you are better at putting it on, and try to get the liner close to where you want it.
Go to a make-up store or Macy's and go to any make-up department. They will show you the correct way for sure! Good Luck!

How do you apply makeup for someone with chinky eyes?

My best friend is 100% Korean and has REALLY chinky eyes.

She doesn't even have that fold everyone has.

And she's always complaining how she can't put on makeup because of it.

So ... how do you apply makeup for someone with chinky eyes?

Thanks. How do you apply makeup for someone with chinky eyes?
Chinky is one of my favorite words!

Tell her to use a darker shade where her crease should be and a light shade on her lid and just below her brows. Use white (not black) eyeliner on the ';waterlines';. Use curling mascara. Have round slightly arched eyebrows. How do you apply makeup for someone with chinky eyes?
You're welcome! Report Abuse

Your use of the word 'Chinky' is racist. Your friend may not be bothered or may have learned to deal with racism by pretending it doesn't matter, but you use the term 'chinky eyes' to describe the eyes of a whole race of people, not just her in this instance. Chinky is often used derogatively and to stereotype and you have just endorsed and promoted that, even if in ignorance.

Oddly, in an earlier question you describe yourself as Chinese?
I'm a proud asian, and I actually have big eyes and the ';fold';, actually called a crease.

But I have some friends that don't, and my biggest suggestion is don't use dark makeup too much above the eye, but enough to actually see some of it, and use a light color to highlight the browbone. BLEND BLEND BLEND. Try to line the eyes on the waterline, which is the place behind your eyelashes, so the eyeliner doesn't make the look too harsh, lining on the waterline, or the ';inside'; as some people call it, looks more natural and makes eyes look bigger, find an eyeliner that won't sting your eyes, and try a mascara that isn't too black, maybe soft black or dark brown.
Don't use the word ';chinky'; since that's rather rude/offensive.

Just say that she has smaller, almond shaped eyes?

Apply black eyeliner on the lashline. Then white eyeliner on the waterline to make your eyes stand out.

For eyeshadow, you should extend it to the browbone (since she doesn't have a crease). Eyeshadow should be a neutral light color, that's a few shades lighter than her skin tone.

And don't forget the mascara! Dark, volumizing, lengthening BLACK mascara will make anyone's eyes POP!
Curling the eyelashes is a great way to make her eyes apear more open. She shouldn't use dark eyeshadows or wear eyeliner on her top lid... there are makeups that are called highglighters than can make her eyes apear more open or more bright and less slinty looking

Hope it helps!
do you think your Korean friend or any Korean for that matter likes you to refer to their eyes as ';chinky';....that is an insult!
with a light cover, dont tell yourself chinky

    I have both foundation %26amp; a bronzer.

So any tips/directions would be great. Thanks :)Is there a certain way to apply makeup to make my nose seem smaller?
Apply a matte bronzer with an angled brush like this one: http://www.target.com/Sonia-Kashuk-Large-Contoured-Angled/dp/B000FRCUMO/qid=1224727590/ref=br_1_16/602-3805415-3239000?ie=UTF8%26amp;node=13418071%26amp;frombrowse=1%26amp;rh=%26amp;page=1 to each side of your nose. That will create the illusion of a smaller nose. Here's a great makeup tutorial from MakeupGeekTV on YouTube on how to do it properly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWq-LN4Qd6YIs there a certain way to apply makeup to make my nose seem smaller?
There's a kit you can buy from ben bye that is exactly for that. I have it and in my theatrical makeup class we were doing that just the other day. It cost like 18 bucks.

Trust me bronzer will come off in a matter of minutes. You have to use some sort of creme color. Like a creme blush.

One of my best friends came over my house before the dance one year and she put a darker shade of powder foundation on either side of her nose, and a lighter/translucent powder down the middle. It made her nose look narrower. Hope this helps. ;)

How do I wear and apply makeup?

I'm in my 20's and have never worn makeup but I would like to finally start. I need help from you ladies out there on how exactly to find the right colors for me and how to even apply it. I have brown eyes and white skin that never gets any sun. I have acne scars from my teenage years and it lowers my self confidence immensely since I can tell that is all strangers focus on at times. What would be a good cover up to hide that? How do I wear and apply makeup?
Analyze your skin to see what type of skin you have: oily, combination, normal, dry, etc. Many cosmetic counters have someone there that can do a preliminary analysis of your skin, and recommend some products. If you are on a budget, see what the professional at the cosmetic counter recommends, then go to your local drug store and find a similar product for way less money!

Start with a freshly-washed face (and hands, too). Get a facial, or do one yourself. You want your face to be a clear and smooth canvas for you, the ';artist,'; to do your art. Use a good deep-cleansing mask. Do not exfoliate if you have oily or sensitive skin. It will spread bacteria around your face from the already existing blemishes. Use antibacterial soap if you have acne. Also be sure that you replace the towel you use to dry your face every week. Lastly, apply toner by taking a cotton pad that has been dampened in warm water and sweep it over your face. Toner will restore the pH level of your skin and pick up any remaining dirt.

Massage a light moisturizer into your face no matter what type skin you have, avoiding the eye area! This will help oily skin dry, and dry skin become smoother. Wait a few minutes for it to soak into your skin. After letting it sit for a while, rinse face with warm water, and pat dry.

Apply a sheer foundation that matches your skin tone.

To find the right one, go to the makeup counter at a local department store and have the artist there help you.

Wear illuminator to make your skin appear youthful and dewy compared with dull, matte makeup. Skin illuminators come in powder, cream, mousse, etc. L'Or茅al, Revlon, Neutrogena, and other brands make them - it's like make up with tiny particles that reflect light.

Use a makeup sponge or wedge, starting around the hairline and working your way down. (Use the wedge for this routine because you can be more precise about where the make up goes.) If you want a proper look that looks as if it has been done by a professional makeup artist, try using a foundation brush.

Remember to apply the makeup all the way down to your throat area and keep blending so you can't see where the make up ends. Nothing is worse than looking like you have a mask on your face!

Around the eye area, do very light strokes inward, toward the inner corner of your eye. Don't apply it to your upper eyelid! All of the professional makeup artists say not to apply foundation to this area. This is why you need a foundation that matches your skin. If you want foundation to darken your skin then try putting it above your eyes, and see what you like. Be gentle with this part, because the skin is very delicate and sensitive here.

Remember to blend all the makeup into your hairline. (but not so that your hair is another color!)

Apply concealer to any red or discolored spots. In the corners of your eyes, where it's blue, and around the nostrils are good places for this. Do this after applying foundation, so you don't use too much (many makeup artists do this the other way around). First apply the concealer, then pat very lightly with your finger to blend. Only apply concealer to the area that you want to conceal. Afterwards, use the wedge to blend the concealer in with the foundation. Stand back away from your mirror to see if you have effectively concealed the areas. Try to stand about the distance away from the mirror that you stand away from people when you talk to them. Another way to conceal blemishes is to pat green concealer on the blemishes and red spots, then put foundation over top (the green reduces redness).

Apply a loose powder all over the face using a powder brush. Pat it into the powder; then, with a paper towel, tap the brush so the excess falls off the brush. Lightly brush across the whole face. Use a powder puff (small) to apply powder on the upper lid. Apply a bronzer to your forehead, cheeks, and chin, to give a sun-kissed look,if wanted.

Highlight your brow bone and cheek bones by applying a light powder just below the brow, and to the highest part of your cheek.

Apply a small amount of blush to the apples of your cheeks. Smile so you can see the apple of your cheek. Start the application at the apple and drag the blush outward toward your temple, following your cheek bone. Blend the color down a bit below your cheekbone in towards your earlobe.

If you added too much color to the brush, use the clear side of your wedge to blend it in more until the color is faded out a bit. Your cheeks should have a hint of color. You don't want to look like a clown!

Take a fluffy powder brush and blend everything together, so that there are no visible lines or excess powders.

Line your eyes. Lightly pull one closed eyelid straight to the side and line it with a brown or soft black liner. For a more appealing look, apply liner with very light strokes to the upper lid, stroking toward the outer corner of the eye. To blend, use an angle brush. For a more natural look dip the angle brush in some of your darker eyeshadow. Use a very light amount, or use the applicator tip. For the bottom lid, use a very light amount on the outer corner.

Put on the eyeshadow Most eye colors come with two or three colors on the palette. The lighter color is for the lid. The darker color is for the crease on the lid, just below the eye bone. Apply the lighter tone first to the lid, spreading upwards to near the crease. For this, use the applicator that came inside the package. For the darker color, using your eyeshadow brush, dip into eye color and tap the brush to lose the excess. Apply inside the crease of the eye. You can find the crease by looking straight ahead. Your eye makes its own crease. Blend the color toward the outer corner of your eye. Sometimes you can blend it around to the bottom lid, but very lightly. The lightest color is for under the brow bone. Use the applicator to apply right on the brow bone just under the brow line. Make sure to use the larger eyeshadow brush to blend all the colors.

Use eyebrow pencil color that is very close to your natural eyebrow color. Here you just want to fill in missing areas. (It might behoove you to visit a makeup person that can arch your eyebrows correctly. If you've never done it yourself, have someone do it for you.) Your eyebrow should look very natural. If you do apply eyebrow pencil to any part of your eyebrow, use the angled brush to blend it into your brow with very light strokes.

Use a lash curler first before applying any mascara. There are several mascaras to choose from depending on the look you want. If you have short lashes, use a mascara that will add length... if you have thin lashes, use a volumizing mascara. Never pump your mascara brush in and out of the mascara. This causes air pockets. Dip the brush in the mascara once and lightly wipe off the excess onto a paper towel. Looking downward, apply to the top lash with upward strokes. Start with the inner part and work your way outward. Do both eyes with two coats, then let dry. After a few seconds, do the bottom lids. It's better to apply to the very outer part of the lash on the bottom lid. This will open your eye more.

Line your lips with a liner that matches your lip color. Make sure your lip liner pencil is sharpened, but not too sharp. Line around the natural line of your lips. Trying to create a fuller lip by dragging the lip pencil outside your lip line is for professionals. Usually it makes you look like you're just plain bad at applying makeup! After applying your lip pencil to your lip line, rub your lips together so the lip pencil color spreads inside your lips.

Apply lipstick or lip gloss with a brush. It will spread it evenly. It's a good idea to brush your lip brush in your lipstick, then some of your lip gloss for a nice light shine. Blot your freshly painted lips lightly with a tissue.

Use a pressed powder to lightly powder the rest of your face, and the area under your eyes. Use very light pressure. Keep your pressed powder in your purse for touch ups.

[edit] TipsDon't apply harsh colors to cheeks especially if you have larger pores, this will help with the invisibility of your pores. If you don't have visible pores still use this tip because it will look fake and you will get the stripe that is mentioned a few tips down.

Focus on one part, or two at most, of your face. Don't use a bold hue of lipstick with stand-out eyeliner and a bright shade of blush. Instead, zero in on the eyes and lips, or blush/skin. Keep it simple; don't over-do your makeup applications.

Quality is always better than quantity. If you have $50 for your entire face, don't get 10 cheap things, get 4 good-quality things ($25 foundation, $10 mascara, $10 for blush, and then a $5 lip-gloss

When you apply eyeshadow, it's common for specks of color to fall onto your face. This is a pain to get rid of after you've already perfected your foundation. If this happens frequently, apply your eyeshadow first, clean up the mess and then apply foundation. Alternatively, if there are only a few specks, you can just very carefully pick them up off your skin with tweezers.

Eyeshadow sometimes falls onto your eyelashes and on oily skin, and it can smudge underneath your eye. To avoid this, use a make-up wipe or a cotton bud with a little make-up remover on it, and gently sweep it over your eyelashes from root to tip to pick up any leftover eyeshadow.

To prolong your eyeshadow staying power use an eyeshadow base. A really good one is Urban Decay Primer Potion (UK 拢9.50, US $15.) Or you can use a good vitamin E cream (this also moisturizes your skin)

Try to buy non-comedogenic makeup (it won't clog your pores; it says on the back if it's non-comedogenic.)

Make sure all of these colors go with your skin, eyes, and hair colours.

Use a liquid-to-powder Foundation to save time andHow do I wear and apply makeup?
Covergirl Aquasmooth is great. It is easy to put on and it is really natural looking. I have had a number of people comment on how great my skin looks and they usually think that I don't wear makeup. Unfortunately, I'm beginning to sound like a commercial, lol, but I really do recommend it.

As for colors and ways to apply the makeup, you can go to most department stores and get a free makeover. They will probably give you some good tips. JCPenney's is a good place to go because the people aren't usually as snobby as they are at Nordstroms, and they won't make you feel really dumb for not knowing much. You could also ask your girlfriends for a makeover. Many of my female friends love giving makeovers.
Try Mineral Makeup. I like Maybellines Mineral Power line of makeup. I would try the powder to have more coverage.

To find your color, alot of websites have a colormatch type thing where you pick what your skintone, eyecolor, and hair color is and they tell you what shades would look the best. Its a hard thing to find your true color, even I have a hard time and I've been wearing makeup for years now.

    Good luck!!
Mineral powder foundation is the best for controlled coverage. Plus, it's one step for maximum coverage, flawless finish, and shine control.

taking Zinc and vitamin A are very good for your skin. The results are very similar to or better than using typical acne drugs like Tetracycline and Accutane.
MAC Foundation, green, gold, and purple eyeshadow.
I suggest the book ';The 5 Minute Face'; by Carmindy!!
go to like bon-ton or macy's and ask them to help you with make up

Well, I started to wear make-up when I started to enter high school. Anyway, I would start out with the colors that would match my skin tone, and eyes. It would depend on the brand of make-up you are using, I use like maybelline or how you spell it! Lol, anyway, and also, covergirl. Some CG are good and some are not.

    1. I put on a little bit of concealer since I had some terrible acne scars from middle school, I wouldn't exactly use my fingers that much because it can cause some oil to the face, I sometimes use them a little and then use a sponge or brush to do my face. You shouldn't put concealor around your eyes like eyelids-I don't know why but I was told that.

    2. Then sometimes I would put on foundation and then mineral powder or use powder alone. Blending is the key.

    3. Then I would use an eyebrow pencil and do my eyebrows since I hardly have any, I do 4 light strokes and then blend them, then I put on mascara on my eyebrows to make it natural, sometimes I put on eyeshadow on my eyebrows but not all the time.

4.With my eyes, I use an eyeliner, start at the inner eyelid and then start drawing out smoothly toward the outer corner of the eyelid.

    5. Then I would use my curler to curl my eyelashes since my eyelashes don't curl, and also, makes your eyes alittle bit bigger and bright I guess. While curling my eyelashes, I count to about 10-30 seconds. I sometimes blowdry my curler for about 7 seconds and then curl my eyelashes because it pretty much helps my eyelashes to stay (not against water though!)

6.Then I put on mascara, I go for volume, definition, length, and separation, I would start at the roots and then toward to the tips. I apply coats and not really let them dry till I am satisfied.

7.Then I apply eyeliner at the bottom, going back %26amp; forth for about 4 times or more at the corner of my eye and then smudge it w/ a sponge.

8.Then i apply mascara on my bottom lashes.

9.When i make a mistake on my eyes, I would use an ear q-tip to clean it up. Usually w/mascara on my eyebrows, if I mess up I clean it up with an ear q-tip along with lotion.

    10. And there, I am done =)

    I hope that helps....

Here is a pic of me before and after, of course my before pic doesn't show my scars because of the camera I used. In the before pic, I did wore some eyeliner

    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj268/Christiangirl7777/makeupdifference.jpg

Concealer would be the obvious option to hiding your acne scars, however, I recently discovered a great mask that helps exfoliate and get rid of your acne scars (it's long-term, however, so you're not going to see results in like a month)

If you're just starting off with makeup, I'd recommend getting some mascara, pencil eyeliner, blush and lip gloss. Those are items I started up with - As you get more experienced, you should start using liquid eyeliner, lipstick, and of course, eyeshadow. It really depends on what kind of look you are trying to create.

For a natural look, all you need is:

    - Concealer

    - Foundation (to make skin virtually flawless)

    - Eyeliner (line top lids ONLY, lining the bottom will make it more obvious that you're wearing eyeliner)

    - Mascara (this could be optional depending on the thickness and the length of your mascara, if your lashes are like mine, which are straight and medium-length, then invest in a good eyelash curler and a curling mascara, or at least one that holds curls well)

    - Blush (for a natural flush, however if you already have pink cheeks, there's no need to ever buy blush, except for maybe when you're wearing a frosty lip gloss, which can make your face look washed out)

[If you're not much of a blush person, a bronzer's not a bad idea either)

    - Lipstick (for a natural look, either choose a pink-ish nude color or just nude)

    - Lip Gloss (optional, depending on whether you want some shine or not, or if you don't like lipstick but would like some color on your lips, choose a natural colored lip gloss [pink, peach, nude])

How to apply makeup on a man?

My male friend is dressing like a woman for Halloween and he wants me to help him with his makeup. I have no idea how to put makeup on a man. Should I just put the same amounts and types that I use on myself? His skin is very different from mine. I have no idea....

Any tips???How to apply makeup on a man?
I think I'd use a darker eye shadow so it shows up better on him. Go ahead and start with your foundation and then apply blush probably a little heavier than you do your own. Have fun with it!!!How to apply makeup on a man?
Be sure to take pictures!!!! Report Abuse

The whole a guy dressing up as a woman is to make it look funny. You don't need to put foundation on or anything like that, but go heavy on the eyeliner, eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick. Putting mascara on him wouldn't be bad either.
Make it all messy if you dont know how how itll be funny blue eye shadow and red lip stick would be really funny lol
Go for the Rocky Horror Picture Show look.
    just keep it simple
I agree with the second answer as far as the foundation goes. You don't know what that might do to his face so I'd leave it outl. And like she said it's supposed to be funny not professional. Have fun with it. Do some 80's style eyeliner or something.
one question: why is he dressing up as a woman? you know what, never mind; don't answer that. apply on him what you apply on yourself, but make sure to get different colors so it matches his complexion. have fun!

What tools do i use in gimp to apply makeup?

And dont say i should wear makeup then take a photo.

im planning to do a makeover on someones pic and they dont wear makeup at all.

im fairly okay at gimp in some areas, but do any of u know what tool iuse?

    is it the airbrush tools?

    best answer 10pts thankyou.

feeel free to message me for further information

xWhat tools do i use in gimp to apply makeup?
    I use the airbrush tool.

To even out skin I Get their skin colour and go over it lightly with the airbrush tool.

For like eyeshadow and stuff i usually do the same thing, if you want coloured eyeshadow change the brush mode to 'color' and then select what colour you want on the foreground and backround colour box. Then you can do other colours besides just black. Use the blur tool so the lines dont look to harsh and unnatural though.

If you want to get technical about it you can download some eyeshadow or eyelash brushes.

Heres a Retouch I did using these techniques =)

http://vacantdesign.deviantart.com/art/A…What tools do i use in gimp to apply makeup?
Most people who do this sort of photo retouching are professionals and therefore use Photoshop. If you can't find someone who can give you help directly in Gimp you may wish to review a number of the Photoshop tutorial sites to get an idea of the techniques involved and simply 'translate' that into the appropriate Gimp menu/tool options.Good luck.

PS - I found this link to a suitable collection of Photoshop tutorials covering makeup related issues http://www.photoshoproadmap.com/Photosho…
I use Photoshop.. but i know Gimp has similiar tools.. To put make-up on pics in the past i've imported a high quality pic of a woman with the make-up i wanted to use.( have both pics side by side) i use the clone tool (zoomed way in for more control) and it'll replicate the makeup exactly. U should create a new layer for the make-up so that u can control the opacity and fade so that it looks realistic.

Does anyone else find it disgusting when women apply makeup for the day on public transport?

I mean, there is something so exhibitionist about it. It is admirable in a way, the way a woman can convert herself from Bo Diddley to Bo Derek in 15 minutes flat.

Does it bother anyone else?Does anyone else find it disgusting when women apply makeup for the day on public transport?
OMG i hate it! The worst the absolute worst it the modern obsession with lip balm..some women will be in the middle of a conversation with you and think it's OK to start raking in the bag to apply lip salve for the 400th time that day..Just how scabby can their gob be?

I hate it when they tug at their hair constantly pulling it down and straighter only they cant do it properly because of their false nails..

Women who brush their hair in front of me on the bus!!! WTF? How rude is that?

I've got a friend who puts make up on any where( the one who peed on me leg)..we have many a heated discussion.I cringe I don't even want to be associated with it..I'm not sure why I'm bothered its just the height of vanity I suppose..how effing bothered can you be?Does anyone else find it disgusting when women apply makeup for the day on public transport?
Perception of another woman: I counted 7 honest answers from women and that didn't include the questionable names - glad you'e not doing a legit unBIASed survey Er..Oem..starts.

Don't do mine on public transport BTW - only because I lack the nerve and the skill. Report Abuse

Well, if you hate it, you'll see many such common scenes in Japan when you take the trains. Personally, I don't do that out of respect for other commuters who may feel uneasy.

What's worse is that I have seen many inconsiderate people who cut their nails openly in the train and even on buses which is so annoying and unhygienic. I always give a look of dismal %26amp; disgust. If you have seen such people, I bet you'll feel they're worse than the women who apply makeup. At least, these women don't make that irritating clicking noise and dirty the environment like those dirty fellows who let their unwanted nails lie everywhere in the trains and on the buses!
Ugh yeah. The other day I found myself a nice comfy (haha) seat on the train, away from anyone else. Next station, a woman in her mid thirties gets on and sits opposite me. She took a whole bloody bag of makeup out - not just some mascara or eyeshadow, but the whole friggin' load: cream, foundation, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, lipgloss - and started applying it. It took her around 30 minutes, by which time I had already arrived at my station.

I think it麓s very selfish of them. I don't do it, I do it at home, so why the hell can麓t they?
I wouldn't call it digusting. Opposed to brushing one's hair it isn't causing any impairment to another traveller's personal appearance or journey (I was referring to little hairs that may be shed) applying make up doing affect you at all. Women have a lot more social pressures to look good and feel good about themselves and applying make up is one of those little mediums to do so. Also women often have the same amount of time to get ready as a man and twice as many things to do in that time.

Everyone has their little annoyances. Some people don't like people texting or calling people on public transport. Some people don't like others to talk to them. Some don't like people eating next to them. You will never be able to win in this situation as unlike those cases, its not noisy and if you don't like to see it, just don't look at them!

What do you expect? That we all should sit there in silence, avoiding eye contact and with our hands in our laps?
Not really though I do feel it is dangerous. Hit a bump at just the right time and say goodbye to your eye! lol I do feel it is something that should be done at home if possible but if you need to then i guess that is that. I personally haven't attempted it I try to do my makeup and primping before leaving my house. Or if I can't do my makeup I just leave without it, Give my skin a day of freedom if you will. LOL no I guess if it really bothers you, you can always say something about it.
It's disgusting. This morning one woman was brushing her hair and filing her nails on the tube. All those bits of her in the air - yuk. Perhaps in a couple of years from now women will be cleaning their teeth on the bus whilst men shave with an electric razor. The place to perform one's toilet is the bathroom - not public transport.
no i think of it as a gift (i'm a girl) and the fact that we can put on mascara and eyeliner and lipgloss and eyeshadow and blush just shows that we are amazingly coordinated and ya know what??? i bet half the men in the world (u included!!) can't put on chapstick right when your sitting down in a chair much less in a moving vehicle and so yeah if you have a problem with that, make an organization and a petition and send it to the white house or congress and have them pass a bill. i can see the headlines now:

WOMEN ARRESTED FOR PUTTING ON MAKEUP ON PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION see page 3 for details

LOL anyways yeah i don't think that there's anything wrong with doing that.
It doesn't bother me in any way. In fact, there is something highly comical about having to apply a mask before you can face your colleagues. It also makes me laugh when they pull those funny faces which seem to be part of the ritual.
I don't find it disgusting, it just annoys me.

I find it strange that people who don't have time to put it on before they head off to work or that, don't just not put it on. It seems a bit vain.
    no.

i hate make up, but its not disgusting or vile to put on when riding a bus. i guess it just kinda shows she'd rather sleep in an extra 15 min and do her face on the bus
Not particularly. I don't do it myself, but that's mainly because the public transport is bumpy and I would muck it up.
Why disgusting? Maybe its irritating or annoying to you. I personally don't do it, I just feel uncomfortable doing my makeup in public places.
I think it is far more disgusting that men sit in their cars picking their noses and think that a glass window disguises it somehow. Gross!
    Why would it be disgusting???

Maybe they dont have enough time to do it in the house!!

Its not offensive in anyway and theyr not bothering you,,so why should it matter????

    Jeeezzzzz
It's a bit tacky but not everyone can find the time, especially in the morning.
If it takes them 15 minutes to get the polyfilla in there must be some right ugly blighters on your train
If only you knew anything about women. You haven't had much experience have you? After all, you do look flatout like a homosexual in your avatar.
Disgusting is probably not the right word to use. Does not bother me.
    No I find it fascinating.

My GF loves watching me wet shave in the bathroom because of the faces I pull.
If you don't want to see the sores , look away now . . .
I don't find it disgusting. It may be annoying to some people, but not disgusting.
Doesn't bother me, but I never do my makeup in public.
I think it's cheap when they do
    I think its HOT!!
No. I don't get the big deal.

What tools do i use in gimp to apply makeup?

feeel free to message me for further informationWhat tools do i use in gimp to apply makeup?
Yes, using the airbrush tool and changing the opacity, scale, rate and pressure will do nicely. I also recommend using the Smudge tool to really smooth everything out, again lessen the opacity. Depending on what kind of photo this is you may be able to get away with using just the smudge tool. I also recommend trying the Blur/Sharpen tool. You may not need it, but it's another good tool to try.

Oh, and don't feel you need to use all the tools I mentioned. Each photo is different, despite having the same subject matter. Play around until you get the desired effect.

  • How do you keep your makeup on all day? what steps do you do to apply makeup and what do you use?

well, i use foundation and eyeliner, maybe mascara, lipgloss.. But im in the 7th grade and would like some tips for makeup because i think i do a bad job lol. but just tell me what you use and how to make it last, i put eyeshadow on sometimes and it comes off even before i get to school sometimes! lol, thank you a bunch!!How do you keep your makeup on all day? what steps do you do to apply makeup and what do you use?
im going into the 8th grade and my makeup routine is:

1.concealer i use MAC studio sculpt concealer and sometimes revlon spa age defying concealer

2.foundation i use everyday minerals foundation and i apply it with an ECOtools powder brush

3.blush i use NARS blush in Orgasm or everyday minerals blush in Theme Park and use the ECOtools blush brush

4.loose powder i use covergirl loose powder or victoria secret very sexy finishing powder to set my makeup

5.to keep your eye shadow on you need to use a primer i use the urban decay primer potion it works really well i love it

6.i put on eyeshadow i usually use an Estee Lauder eye shadow in honey drop

7.then eyeliner i use covergirl perfect blend eye crayon

    8. i curl my eyelashes

9.mascara i use covergirl lashblast in waterproof

    10. lastly i put on some lipgloss i dont usually use lipstick Victoria's secret beauty rush lipgloss is my favoriteHow do you keep your makeup on all day? what steps do you do to apply makeup and what do you use?
I only wear concealer, mascara, eyeliner, and chapstick.

The concealer I use is called Boing! by Benefit. They sell it at Sephora. It is an ';industrial strength'; concealer, and stays on all day! It is about $20 for one, though my last one lasted me an entire year! I highly recommend it!

Also, to help your eyeshadow stay on, check out a Neutrogena product called Skin Soothing Eye Tints. They come in really pretty, neutral pearly shades, and feel really cool when you put it on :) I used to wear it alone without eyeshadow. But if you choose to also wear eyeshadow over top of it, it helps the shadow stay on. You can buy this anywhere, Target, Walgreens, Walmart..etc. and is around $7.00.

    Hope this helps! :)
Primer. Primer. Primer. I cannot stress that enough!

For foundation to last try using a face primer. Brands like Laura Mercier, Smashbox, and Fresh have great foundation primers. You are probably on a budget, so I suggest Revlon Beyond Natural foundation primer. Remember to set your foundation and concealer with a translucent powder afterward. But, I actually think that you shouldn't use foundation, if you want sheer, but natural coverage opt for a tinted moisturizer. Stila have great ones, or try Physician's Formula.

For eyeshadow to last you need a primer/base. Urban Decay Primer Potion, Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, or Too Faced Shadow Insurance. For a drugstore brand, try Loreal De-crease. An eyelid primer keeps eyeshadows from creasing, keeps eyeshadow on longer, keeps the eyeshadow brighter, and creates a smooth base for the shadow.

    Hope this helps!
it is primer that makes your make-up last and also after you use your liquid foundation you ';set'; your make-up by using a translucent powder. i need to buy a primer which im gonna do tomorrow and then put on my liquid foundation set it with powder and then do my eye make-up lol. btw with liquid foundation you just dot your face and then blend it with a brush.
iv found that if you use a liquid foundation and then use a powder on top, it stays on. if you put foundation and powder on your eye lids aswell, the eye shadow seems to stay on a while longer too.

Where is a good place to go and learn the best way to apply makeup for my skin color and eyes?

I would like some advice on the best colors and methods for my daily makeup routine. I was thinking of going to Merle Norman, Dillard's, Ulta or Sephora, but I don't understand what would be the best. Any suggestions on price or place would be great. I have green eyes and an olive complexion.Where is a good place to go and learn the best way to apply makeup for my skin color and eyes?
You should go to Ulta or Sephora. They do great at applying make up and seeing which colors look best on your skin tone. the prices may be a bit higher but Its well worth it bc the make there last foreverWhere is a good place to go and learn the best way to apply makeup for my skin color and eyes?
MAC. They have their own stores and they are also in other stores, such as Macy's. They're hipper than the more classic ones like Estee Lauder. They can give you advice on colors. Also if you would like to see how to apply it, they will do it for you, but you will have to buy $50 worth of makeup. They have the best colors ever, and it is less expensive than the comparable brands.
I Learned how to put on makeup at ULTA ! I Love that place,, i think that would be the best place. but i've seen my friend go to sephora to get some edvice ,, It was cheep and good, i think sephora or Ulta would be the places to go :)

personally..but its up to yu, cus everyone has a different idea about it.
Dillards would be good. My daughter's best friend just went last night and had foundation mixed for especially for her complexion. She has a light olive complexion with blue-gray eyes. They also showed her how to apply her makeup for prom which is next week.
I recommend going to Sephora. Wonderful service, they know what they are talking about, they don't rush it(a pet peeve of mine), but you will most likely end up buying something, they will convince you! Hope this helped!
Merle Norman, and if you have green eyes and an olive complexion, you don't need make-up
Yeah, I say go to Sephora. They have a wider range of products which means a wider range of prices.
you should go to sephora. it's affordable.
    dillards in the mall
Sephora would be the best place. They are trained very well there.
all of those would be fine.

maybe Mac? i got some make-up done and i liked it.

    good luck

I want to know how i can get that ';natural look'; without spending too much money/time and still look good. I cant wear eyeliner cause my mom says it makes you look like a corpse. I have a sort of pale olive/ ivory color skin but it isnt really dark but in some places blotchy. What are the best products to buy, where can I buy them and where/ what are the cheapest places to buy them. What is the best/cheapest products on the market? Hope you can help! PLEASE EXPLAIN THOUGHLY (you can even include wardrobe and hair ideas. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!How do you apply makeup to get the best ';natural'; look, and which type is the best and is cheapest? Tips?
For makeup to maintain that natural look, the colours you use must match the shades of your skin tone. If you use concealer should be yellow in tone as this will give adequate coverage but not add excessive colour, thus keeping the look natural. Your foundation or tinted moisturiser should not be obvious when applied to your skin either.

When using items like blusher and eyeshadow, the best natural look for blusher is to choose one which matches the colour of your complexion after some physical exertion. Eyeshadow shades can be any from the more earthy tones, warm colours like brown, gold or plum.

    Mascara: Best Colours

Mascara can be grey or perhaps brown. The same applies to eyeliner. However, if you want to miss out one of those items that will also enhance the natural look. You don't want to overdo makeup or draw attention to any one area - the aim of this sort of application is to look as if you are wearing very little, if any, at all.How do you apply makeup to get the best ';natural'; look, and which type is the best and is cheapest? Tips?
i use the RIMMEL brand..i like everything they have and the price is reasonable...the liquid RECOVER foundation is the best.....and some pressed powder..for lipstick i use COVERGIRL OUTLAST...little pricey but watch the sales..it stays on all day..i think pinks would look good on you...pink blush..go lightly on everything though..for mascara use the BROWN/BLACK color..it's not so harsh..you don't want raccoon eyes..good luck to you..go easy now
well, i use MAC foundation. I like it and it works, but if you want to try somehting else- Neutragena has a new mineral powder which can help. Also, blush on cheekbones. very light. Put on a nude lipgloss and lightly apply mascara. (brown if you like)
if u r looking for cheaper use wet and wild but i personally recomend that u use loreal or mac
the best makeup is to keep it clean and fresh with a little moisturiser on it. then apply some kohl in ur eyes and little gloss on ur lips...i think its the best thing you can do for a natural and fresh look....keep hair tied up at back if u have a round face.

see products should suit you and they shouldnt be over done. doesnt matter if they are not branded products...

just be comfortable..... beauty will come automatically

How do you apply makeup so that you look radiant?

I wear makeup but it looks so weird my face looks like a red orange and the rest of my skin is my skin tone. What kind of makeup can I use to blend in with my skin.

It sounds like you need to have a professional makeup artist match you with your perfect shade of makeup. The artists at the Mac counter did that for me and they pick out the perfect colors and products for you. I've heard that other makeup counters in the mall do this as well like Clinique, but the first time I tried makeup it was at Mac and I've been hooked ever since. They can also tell you the best way to apply those eyelashes.

The only thing is if you chose to have Mac do this for you, you have to buy at least one of their products. I don't know if this is the same at Clinique or other counters.
The best and most blend able foundation is bee luscious cosmetics liquid powder mineral foundation... And I DO NOT RECOMMEND FAKE LASHES ..... go more natural with a solid mascara like the High Definition Mascara.
As far as the eyelashes go... You can put liquid eyeliner over the white glue after its dry, or look for black eyelash glue. MAC Pro stores sell it, but I'm sure you can find it on the web. Its great I use it all the time. I have long lashes already but when I do cat eyes it works like a charm and no one can tell i have fake lashes on. =)

  • How do I apply makeup on Oriental eyes?

I'm not really into all the eyeshadow and stuff like that, and I am not sure if this is a complicity, but I wear glasses. I'll be getting new glasses before back to school in either rimless or the rectagular shaped designer frames. Please give me some good advice!

Thanks a lot!How do I apply makeup on Oriental eyes?
Go to www.makeupforlife.blogspot.com - This girl is Asian, and she has GREAT tips for applying all sorts of make-up for girls of that race. Just look around on the site, you'll find more info than you need. How do I apply makeup on Oriental eyes?
Oriental eyes have such a unique shape that I feel you wouldnt need a lot of eye makeup, maybe some mascara and a liner on the bottom only, BUT--dont line completely underneath because it will look too hard--line the bottom corner.
Wait wait you are oriental but not into makeup and ';stuff like that'; You are the farthest thing from the stereotypical asian person Man!
im part asian too, but my eyes arent really chinky, i would say use mascara and some eyeliner, but not too much.
Do not wear any if you do not need any. However, I think eyeliners do not look good on Asians. I think only light eyeshadows look good on Asians. Go to a MAC counter and have them work on your eyes. They can tell you what looks best for you.
You just apply it. I am Chinese and never thought about it really. As it is true we have less of an eye lid than other races, it is still there. Just line your eyes and put on a bit of mascara. If you do choose to wear shadows, put the darkest colour on the eyelid itself and a lighter colour up towards the brow. Good luck!
do you like eye makeup? if so then yes wear it dont matter your race
eyeliner and false lashes came emphasize your eyes so they look bigger. i am asian but my eyes are bigger than average. see if you can get contacts try the one day ones from acuvue they are pretty good for first timers because you dont have to clean them out and you can be sure that they are clean for you every day because they are new! i think that glasses usually make eyes look weird.. not sure why but whenever im in my contacts i feel so much prettier.
Orientals have naturally chinky eyes. Increase the size of your eyes by applying dark eyeliner. You can choose between the shades of dark brown or black which is also the color of your eyes. Apply thickly at the upper lid and lightly below. Apply mascara to enhance the length of your eyelashes. To create a somewhat deep-set eyes, apply dark-colored make-up on top of shades of cream or mettalic white. Then your'e done!

    start off with the basics..

eyeliner mascara to bring out your eyes

I need help with applying makeup....and im about 15 years old i apply makeup but it dosent look all that great

I would say the biggest thing would be not to put too much on. Eyeliner looks terrible if you put too much on.

Also make sure the makeup is new, if its not it makes you break out.I need help with applying makeup....and im about 15 years old i apply makeup but it dosent look all that great
Hey! I know what you mean... when you first start to put on makeup it is hard to get the hang of. It all depends on what kind of makeup you want to wear. If you want to wear COVER UP or FOUNDATION, make sure it matches your skin perfectly. You want to make it blend into your skin so you dont have a line from where you have makeup and where you dont. It is an unflattering and unnatural line. If you would like to wear BLUSH do not put it on your cheeks. You should put it on your cheek bones, nose, and a bit on your forehead and chin... but NOT TOO MUCH! mainly put it on your cheek bones to start. If you want to do eyeshaddow, i have many tips for you: 1. dont try to match your eye color. It will make your eyes look dull. If you contrast it then your eyes will stand out and look brighter. 2. Dont try to match your shirt color. It can sometimes be pulled off but sometimes your shirt is just too bright or too crazy to match. 3. Less is more. Literally.. If you want to wear EYELINER, put it on as little as possible. If you put it on thick or all over you will look tired - and possibly scary! If you want to wear MASCARA, put it on but try not to get it to clump. Also, for the first 20 seconds or so after you put it on, try not to blink so the mascara wont rub off or your eyelids. Lastly, if you want to wear stuff on your lips, i suggest wearing lipgloss. With your age, you dont want to wear anything too drastic. Well I hope this has helped! Good luck and remember that your never covering up your face's flaws - just enhancing your face's good points!I need help with applying makeup....and im about 15 years old i apply makeup but it dosent look all that great

Heyy. I was in your position too! Here are a couple of tips.

3.On youtube, there is this amazing girl who gives lessons on how to apply makeup.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=e76FjfVauEA

It might be a little bit ghetto and she does talk a lot but they are really great vids.

    4.Practice!

If you are ever bored. Just practice applying makeup. It is a fun way to pass the time.
Ok the VERY best videos you can watch are Amy Bejamins. She is the BEST makeup person ever!!!!!!!!!! Go to youtube.com and type in Amy B. Click on her videos and the ones where shes doing it on herself are better in my opinion. She is asian, long brown hair, gorgeous, and has an aussie accent! :)
I personally think at a young age you don't really need a lot of makeup. I'm aroundyour age too, and I just wear lots of mascara and curl it instead of wearing loads of eyeliner. I think eyeliner is risky because it can actually make your eyes look smaller if you wear too much of it. Wearing a eyeliner on the top of your eyes only is a good way to brighten and enlarge your eyes. Colored lip gloss is my personal favorite... just make sure not to have a huge brown goop on your lips because that doesn't look so appealing. a light hint of blush can help brighten your face too.

If you prefer to do something more than that, you should go to beauty stores such as MAC, Sephora, etc. and ask them for advice :]

    hope that helped!
GO TO MERL NORMAN IN THE MALL AND THEY WILL TEACH U
Go to one of your friends or the people at the mall or even your mom or if you have a sister they'd work too =] The trick to wearing make-up is to make it look like you're not wearing it at all. Don't learn to put on loads of eyeliner becuase it makes you look trashy with too much. With mascara just kinda go over your eye lashes. For founmdation make sure you really even it out and spread it out. When i first learned to put on makeup I put on a lot of foundation and it made me look terriable becuase i didn't put on the right ammound and i didn't rub it in and even it out.

    Good luck =]

I absolutely LOVE applying makeup-makeup is my art. I don't have musical talent or athletic or academic talent, but I can apply makeup. It's my way of expressing myself and I tend to do so with a lot of brighter colours, both on the eye and on the lip, with a softer cheek. Makeup is my best accessory.Do u enjoy applying makeup or is it a hassle?
I love applying make-up. It's fun and makes me feel glamorous.

It gives me a chance to be really creative and lets me express myself and my personal style.

I prefer a pin-up look.. That's my style and I like to show it on my face. Red lipstick, winged liner, neutral shadows and intense brows.

    Good tips on applying makeup?

i have dark brown hair, hazel eyes (leaning more towards the brown side), freckles, dark eyebrows around the same color as my hair, fair skin and rosy cheeks. i need help learning colors that go well with that hair and skin color , how to apply it, etc. etc. any ideas??!Good tips on applying makeup?
The best place to go is to the local MAC counter at MACY'S. They will assist you for free and that would be the greatest place to start esp. if you will be wearing foundation. Our skin is either blue or red under tone. So it is important to find out which undertone you have for the best results, MATCH. Mac's prices are really fair too. A bottle of foundation is like 20.00. It looks much better than foundation you would purchase at cvs etc. A good foundation brush would be a good idea as well. Good luck.Good tips on applying makeup?

Also put on some blush just a little darker than your skin color and a little pink or red lip gloss. Also some mascara and a little eye liner but be careful not to put too much of you'll look goth.

  • How to apply makeup to make create the illusion of high cheek bones?

i use m.a.c studio fix fluid and neutragina healthy skin blush.

i really want to create the illusion that i have high cheek bones.

how can i do this? How to apply makeup to make create the illusion of high cheek bones?
Very simple. Apply your foundation as you normally would, then apply a powder blush (best done in a tawny pinkish-tannish color) on the *apple* of your cheeks, AND *extend upwards towards the hairline.* Just basically apply the blush going up. Don't apply it in circular motions. How to apply makeup to make create the illusion of high cheek bones?
You can contour your cheeks with a darker powder ( 2 sahdes darker than your skintone) and apply the blush just above it. Highlight under your eye and on top of your cheeks with a lighter powder or shimmer to make it pop.
Use the make up to create artifical shadows. Find reference pictures of someone with high cheekbones and study the shadows, then recreate them with light and dark make-up tones.
look up on youtube.. they have EVERYTHINGGG make-up tutorial wise.. so good.. i'll show you a link

Where can I learn to apply makeup that's cheap but quality?

I really want to learn how to apply makeup! Where can I go to learn for a reasonable price? My price range is around $35.00.

Please help me!Where can I learn to apply makeup that's cheap but quality?
I love this store called Ulta. They have a ton of brands from L'oreal to Smashbox. Here is a list of what I would consider essential basic items for doing eyeshadow, excluding brushes.

Two eyeshadows (I would go for a duo. Usually they're coordinated and cheaper than buying two separate eyeshadows.)

Eyeliner (I like a cream or a gel eyeliner. I find it's the easiest to control. Liquid will also work, but I find it's a little bit harder. You can even use a dark eyeshadow for eyeliner. This one's pretty flexible.)

Mascara (But if you are just wanting to learn, mascara is pretty self explanatory. I don't think you really need to practice.)

As for the rest of your makeup, depending on your skin, I would suggest a very light liquid tint, (I love Almay's self-adjusting one.) blush (try to stay with a natural color.) and a lipstick or lip gloss. If you want directions, there are a lot of great sites. I find that MACcosmetics.com and cosmopolitan.com have great how-to guides, but MAC is going to be a little bit more intense and tricky.

I've included a step-by-step guide on how to do a smoky eye, which can be vamped up for evening or toned down for daytime.

Oh, I totally didn't even realize that you were willing to pay 35.00. I thought you meant for makeup. But, no, you should not have to pay to learn how to do makeup. Set up an appointment with a department store counter (make sure there's no minimum buy. MAC is amazing and there's no minimum, if you go to a kiosk and not a MAC store.) There are a lot of great videos on YouTube and your local library should have some makeup how-to books. They should tell you how to figure out what style of makeup works best for your eyes/face.Where can I learn to apply makeup that's cheap but quality?
I don't think you should pay to learn how to put on makeup. You could just go to a makeup counter and ask them to do your makeup in the way you want them to (example: natural, 'red carpet' look, etc). I'm sure Clinique offers to do your makeup and maybe MAC. It's usually free. If you like what you see, ask them how they did it. Also ask what they used on you so you have an idea what looks good on you. Just make sure that you don't go to one of those scary looking people who put waaay to much makeup on for their own good...you dont want to look like them trust me! Or you could google how to apply makeup. There are detailed answers there that are just as good as paying for it. The videos and pics are especially helpful.
go to Barnes %26amp; Noble %26amp; ask the people to help you find a makeup application book . or, for free, go to Seventeen.com or another teen magazine site %26amp; they'll have videos/tips on applying makeup .

Where is the best place to learn to apply makeup for cheap?

I don't wear much makeup at all, but have a small collection. The rules for wearing makeup which I thought were okay for church got me labled a ';drag queen'; by my sister in law. Since then I've not figured out the right way to wear make up, what colors I should be in, or what I should buy. How can I get these answers for my dishwater blond, fair skined aged 31 person that I am? Also when my kids are of age (who are not old enough yet) to wear makeup, where should I send them so they get the right advise about how to apply it etc. This is one mother who is clueless for both herself and in about 4-5 years for my oldest who would then be old enough to start wearing it. Please help and let me know if I should learn at the mall or a drug store? I really need help with this.

Thank you.Where is the best place to learn to apply makeup for cheap?
If you go to Macy's or Bonton (they both sell Clinique) they will do your makeup for you and show/tell you tips and ideas. They do it for FREE to try and get you to buy the make-up, but you're not obligated. It's great because you can actually see %26amp; hear a professional do it.

There are also a ton of youtube videos that do this--my favorites are Tricia Sawyer below because she gives a TON of tips and tricks.

Good luck %26amp; I hope they help :)Where is the best place to learn to apply makeup for cheap?
Just go to a department store. The make up people will show you what to do. They may try to get you to buy something, but just say you will think about it. So it will be freeeeee.
    Uh, hello girl? The Mall!
THE MAKEUP COUNTERS WILL SHOW U FOR FREE, AT ANY MALL.
I learned from videojug.com, which gives you step by step instructions (with video) on how to apply make up - either natural style or glam for night time. Best of all ITS FREE!!!
Go to Nordstrom or a MAC store and have them give you a lesson. At Nordstrom, there is no charge (but it's nice to purchase one or two products). At MAC they may charge you a fee, but you can use it after the appointment to buy products.
Go to your local mall and schedule an appointment at a department store's make up counter (Clinique, Estee Lauder, etc.) They do consolations for free!
if ur sister in law thinks like that, then she has to find a way to fix it. ask her!.

u really should learn at the mall, or ask ur friends, and once again, YOUR SISTER IN LAW!
go online YOUTUBE or other sites...search for applying makeup and I am sure you will find stuff...good luck!

Is it ok to apply makeup right after waxing your upper lip and eyebrows?

can i apply foundation and powder or do i have to wait?Is it ok to apply makeup right after waxing your upper lip and eyebrows?
From my experience, it's alright to apply makeup after waxing, however, at least on my skin, you can always tell. I'd stick to little make up, or else you will be able to cleary see where you applied makeup.

I usually just use a tinted moisterizer very close to my skin tone and some powder also close to my skin tone. Now is not the time to try out a new bronzer, because you will be able to see it, and it will not look natural. Is it ok to apply makeup right after waxing your upper lip and eyebrows?
yeah ! it's fine , unless your skin is irrated , it might not be the best idea .

she didn't say she shaved it , dummy .
why did you shave your eyebrows?

Is it possible to apply makeup without it getting all cakey?

I've resorted to walking around with my ugly skin exposed rather than having cakey makeup all over it. I've tried and tried but it just cakes especially when I put powder over it to control the shine. Yet I see others with smooth flawless makeup applied so I'm getting upset that I can't do it myself. Any tricks and hints? Does makeup brand really make a difference? Is it possible to apply makeup without it getting all cakey?
Use your foundation and powder SPARINGLY. The buildup is coming from layering on too much in an attempt to cover up flaws on your face.

Do you use oil-removing sheets in addition to your powder? Those work very well. I use the kind made by Clean %26amp; Clear. That will definitely help to cut down on the use of powder, plus they don't disturb makeup when you press them to your face [no rubbing!] so you don't have to apply more foundation throughout the day. That will also help to cut down on the cakey factor. Is it possible to apply makeup without it getting all cakey?
okay first of makeup brands do matter however u can still get flawless looking skin from a drugstore brand foundation but there are a few tricks to it first wash ur face with a cleanser to get rid of nay dirt or oil , then use a oil-free moisturizer and soften ur skin then use foundation (dont use powder for heavy cover up coz powder will always make ur skin look cakey , powders are used for very light coverup or to finish off a makeup look so apllying alot of powder makes any face look cakey) but i suggest using foundation and i personally recommend u try either almay clear complexion foundation (whihc helps prevent oil to come back) or maybelline dream matte mousse foundation (which gives u a flawless finish with out making ur face look oily) but anyway apply the foundation with a makeup sponge whihc helps control excess amount plus helps absorb oil aswell after ur done applying the foundation u may use a very little amount of powder if u want to give it a natural dewy look but u dont have too but if u do use very little amount of powder (and i suugest u try maybelline mineral power powder) just dap a little bit and tap the brush to make sure the excess comes off then use the brush in a circular motion to blend it in very well bu they key is to use very little amount to finish off the look but i suggest u should just use foundation coz foundation never gives a cakey look hope this helps
Makeup brand makes a HUGE difference.. You never get the same results from Covergirl as you do from Clinique..

Do you have acne? Because that makes foundation more noticeable sometimes if you use too much.

I suggest going to a makeup store, like Sephora (my favorite lol) and getting your makeup done for free and having them help you pick out the right colors and brand for your type of skin. If you want results, sometimes you gotta spend a little more money. But TRUST ME, the flawless skin is definitely worth it . Hope I helped :)
No it is basically not possible.

If it's powder it will cake. If it's liquid it will 'cake' on the dry skin, or go greasy like.

You must not be looking close enough at other people's skin, and too close at your own when comparing them. Some cakiness always exists because it is a product applied to the skin.
For ';Flawless'; full coverage...I reccommend Revlon colorstay. IT looks AWsome...but you need a makeup brush for it..and do it in little sections cause its hard to blend

For light but very even easy to blend coverages..use loreal true blend ( what I use, and I love it.. no one can tell its there and it covers my skin fine..but its pretty light coverage so if you have quite a few blemishes either get a concealer to go with it or get the other one)
it depends on how you are applying it and you can try a primer it helps allot to use one on the skin. and try mac maybe.or missha bb cream o prefect cover cream thats all i can say
are you applying powder with a puff? if so, that may be way. when you use a puff it just cakes it on. instead of using a puff use a brush.

no matter how much or how little makeup your wearing, you always look fresher and more put together when you have a light shimmer blended on the inside corners of your eyes and right under the arches of your eyebrows. try a teensy bit on your cupid's bow on your top lip too.
Just make sure you apply everything lightly and not to heavy and noticeable

  • How do you apply makeup to look like the people in magazines eyeshadow mainly how do you wear eyeliner?

is it better to wear eyeliner on the top and bottomHow do you apply makeup to look like the people in magazines eyeshadow mainly how do you wear eyeliner?
Eyeliner can be one of the trickiest things to use, but when applied properly the effects can be amazing. Most people use an eyeliner pencil because they think is will be easier, but with a bit of practice, liquid eyeliner can be used successfully too, so that either way you end up with a nice straight line.

    Eyeliner Application

Before you begin applying the eyeliner, there are a few things you should do; firstly, apply any other eye makeup you want to use before adding eye liner and mascara. It may also be helpful if you remove dangly bracelets and watches as they can often get in the way or just become irritating distractions. Make sure you have a good mirror and lighting so that you can properly see what you are doing when using the eyeliner.

    Eyeliner Pencil

    1. The eyeliner pencil should be able to draw a thin, unbroken line along your skin - test it on your hand or arm first. Either sharpen it until the line is thin enough, or if it is too thin, draw a line on a tissue, which will make the tip blunter.

    2. You should hold the eyeliner pencil as you would hold a pencil or pen to write with, usually with your dominant hand. Use your other hand to stretch the eye you are going to line from the outer corner. You can rest your hand holding the pencil against the hand pulling your lid taut.

    3. Don't try to focus on your whole eye lid at one time - just look at the part you are drawing on. The line should be just above your eye lashes on the top lid and just below on the bottom, and should extend just to the outer corner of your eye.

    4. Be wary if your eyeliner pencil tip is quite dry, as this may pull at delicate eye tissue. Draw the line with care if this is the case.

    Liquid Eyeliner

    1. Liquid eyeliner comes in a bottle rather like ink, and you must use a separate brush to apply. The best result will come from a point liner brush.

    2. It is natural to close your eye as you draw the line, but if you keep it open, it will actually make it easier to follow the curve of your lid and thus have a straighter line.

    3. You do not need to try and paint a continuous line with liquid eyeliner. It is actually easier to pain a few small dashes onto the lash line, eg. Inner corner, middle and outer corner, then go back and connect them.

    4. If you want a thicker line than this initial thin one, build it up gradually. Start at the middle of the lash line and draw towards the outer corner. You can extend the line slightly past the outer corner of your eyelid if you wish.

    Common Eyeliner Mistakes:

If you do make a mistake while applying liner in either pencil or liquid form, then it is easily corrected - just keep some eye makeup remover close to hand, and gently dab at the area you wish to remove with a small amount on the end.How do you apply makeup to look like the people in magazines eyeshadow mainly how do you wear eyeliner?
Post a question about that too :)

eyeliner from centre to outside on top lid and just lesson the bottom. if you have quite Small eyes where it under your eyelashes on the bottom. unless you have dark skin don't use black. I am dark blond and I use dark brown or grey. blend the edges in too, makes it look better. As for eyeshadow, cover the whole area underneath your eyebrow in a light shade, nothing too noticeable just to lift the area. then apply your chosen colour over it but don't go above the crease above you're eye. If you go to a beauty counter they sometimes teach, I used to work for the body shop, try one of their shops, they are very good.
Go to http://www.marykay.com/daryn_anderson and click on Application Tips. Select eye apllication and then choose the set of eyes that best match yours. It will give you step by step instructions on how to apply it. I use eyeliner in both places, but only to make my eyes stand out more.
go to the mall and ask a make up counter girl and ask if she could show you (sorry i cant tell you but it's kindof hard to explain)
