Yes, but much less, If he's going to be on t.v. you'll have to match his skin to a foundation and use a very light blush nearest his actual cheek color. Basically what you want to do is keep the shine down with men. I recommend any of Kevyn Aucoin's books, he is a genius.

So I grew up without a sister or close female friends. And my mom hardly wears makeup. My skin is very uneven and I've tried different makeups with no avail. The makeup either wears off and I'm left with nothinig at the end of the work day or it looks too powdery. So what comes firs? Foundation, right? And then what?!

moisturiser should always come in first, then foundation which you should make sure always blends with your skin. Then eyeshadow always before masacara cuz if u wear the mascara first, you'll have a messy job when trying to apply your eyeshadow, then eyeliner if necessary. And of course the lip liner alway,always come before the lip gloss or lip stick. And sweetie your good to go. and always make sure that your eyeshadow compliments your lip stick.
There is no ';correct'; way to apply make-up. Just have fun, and use products in any order :-) Just use the right products for you skin, including concealer, powder, etc. The best foundation to use on your skin is powder, not cream. If you have light/med skin, you can use med/light lipstick and blush. If you wear contacts/none, exclude mascara, eyeshadow, and eyeliner. They cause infections and attract tons of bacteria! Keeping your eyelashes clean and using an eyelash curler is the best, safest and most natural appearance! Natural beauty is skin deep :-)
Well im not an expert but u apply the base /foundation then rub it in til it is smooth as possible then apply the powder its best to use a brush like a makeup brush and use eyeshadow that brings your eyes out.
(1) Cleanse skin
(2) Moisturized w/ something hypoallergenic...I use Aveeno
(3) Concealer...under the eyes, on blemishes, anywhere you want to lighten or blend SMALL imperfections without going overboard.
(3) Foundation...Foundation will help even out your skin tone. If u have sensitive/oily skin use one that's water based like Maybeline Pure...if your skin dries out and is NOT sensitive you could use something that is oil based but I don't recommend it. Powder foundations are good if you have very oily skin otherwise they may make you look chalky. When you use it, apply it all over your face and part of your neck to avoid a line along your jaw. Also, choose a color that is as close to your skin color as possible.
(5) Eyeliner %26amp; Mascara...If your trying not to look like you have a lot of makeup on but still want to use eyeliner and mascara apply eyeliner or dark eyeshadow along your top lash-line only (unless you have extremely light lashes, then you could apply some on the bottom). As far as mascara goes, use an eyelash curler first, sometimes this is enough by itself. But if you are going to use mascara, I would apply some only on the tips of your top lashes for a natural look that makes your eyes pop.
(6) Eyeshadow...look at some pics of makeup that you like of women with similar complexion or eye color. Apply eyeshadow that works with your skin color as well as your eye color. Neutrals always look good. Blues (if done right) look good on brown eyes. Lilacs (again, if done right) looks good on brown and green eyes.
(7) Powder...lightly dust (use a brush, not a pad applicator) powder all over your face.
(8) Blush...Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks and a little bit toward your temples. Use a color that gives you a flushed look, not 80s party girl pink.
(9) Gloss your lips with a complimentary color and your done.
*Make sure you always carry lip gloss, concealer, and powder with you. Also, these tips are very general so they may need to be tested out and adjusted before wearing it out. Something I would also suggest is going to a makeup counter at a department store and having someone there do your makeup. Even if you don't buy the stuff there, wear the makeup to a store that you like and buy closely matching products.

1. Moisturizer, this makes your face smooth and it is easier to apply make up evenly. Try to find an oil free one
2. Liquid Foundation- Use a foundation brush, start from your nose and go outward. This will help with the powdery look.
3. Conceler- if needed, brush on and blend with finger tip
4. Powder- Use a brush- it is much easier and looks smoother.
5. Blush- Roll brush in blush and then smile, apply on the apples of your cheeks.
6. Eye Shadow and Mascara.
7. Lipstick (optional)
I learned these tricks at a makeup counter. Many places in the mall will give you a free consultation. Thier tips are really helpful! Try the perscriptives counter at belk, they are great!
Also, don't buy the cheapest makeup- I use the Loreal True match- It lasts all day and is oil-free, It isn't expensive, but there are cheaper ones that don't work as well.
Also make sure you are using a good makeup remover at night. This can make a huge difference in your skin and how the makeup goes on.

I don't use all of thes things. Just remember **less is more** You don't want to look like you have too much on. Focus on accentuating what you like about your face. I use subtle colors for the office and then more dramatic when it's time to go out.
When you have time, play around with your make-up!

Well, you need to have a clean face. Wash with a mild cleanser, use a scrub to remove dead skin and make skin smooth, use a toner to remove any residue and a apply a light moisturizer...this helps the makeup stay fresher longer.
The first thing you want to apply is the foundation. Me personally, I like to use the triangle sponges to apply my foundation. It gives you a more natural look. You can also use a foundation brush also. Make sure that your foundation matches your skin tone. A little goes a long way. The way I apply is I put a dot on my forehead, cheek area and on the jawline. Make sure you blend in very well. Second is the concealer. Take a concealer brush and pat onto the blemish(es) that you want to cover. Third is setting the foundation with a powder. I like loose powder but you can use a pressed powder too. Take a powder brush and lightly dust powder on face to set your foundation. Now, you are ready to apply your eye makeup. I don't know if you wear eyeshadow or not but I usually apply a light shadow over the whole lid and then apply a dark shade in the crease and then a light gold on the brow bone to highlight. I like to use kohl liner and then a volumizing mascara. I use a little powder blush on the apples of my cheeks and then swipe on some gloss...I rarely wear lipstick. I've been wearing makeup a long time and a master at applying it. Its takes practice but you will get it.

How to apply foundation

For best results, first look down and brush the top lashes from the roots downwards, then look up and brush the top lashes upwards.Then still looking up, brush colour on the lower lashes.Wait for a minute for them to dry, and similarly apply a second coat.Finally brush with a clean dry brush, to separate the lashes.
How to use an eyelash curler
Open the curler and place your upper lashes inside its mouth. Close your eye slightly, then open it; all of the lashes should move into the curler's mouth. Always hold the eyelash curler so that the mouth is parallel to your lashes.
Move the curler closer to the eye until the tool comes to the base of the lashes, but not over the skin of the eyelid.
: Keep the eye open and slowly close the curler. Your eyelashes should fan out evenly across the upper bar. If at any time you feel pinching, readjust the curler.

Move the curler closer to the eye until the tool comes to the base of the lashes, but not over the skin of the eyelid.
: Keep the eye open and slowly close the curler. Your eyelashes should fan out evenly across the upper bar. If at any time you feel pinching, readjust the curler.

I'm a proud asian, and I actually have big eyes and the ';fold';, actually called a crease.
But I have some friends that don't, and my biggest suggestion is don't use dark makeup too much above the eye, but enough to actually see some of it, and use a light color to highlight the browbone. BLEND BLEND BLEND. Try to line the eyes on the waterline, which is the place behind your eyelashes, so the eyeliner doesn't make the look too harsh, lining on the waterline, or the ';inside'; as some people call it, looks more natural and makes eyes look bigger, find an eyeliner that won't sting your eyes, and try a mascara that isn't too black, maybe soft black or dark brown.
Don't use the word ';chinky'; since that's rather rude/offensive.

How do I wear and apply makeup?
I'm in my 20's and have never worn makeup but I would like to finally start. I need help from you ladies out there on how exactly to find the right colors for me and how to even apply it. I have brown eyes and white skin that never gets any sun. I have acne scars from my teenage years and it lowers my self confidence immensely since I can tell that is all strangers focus on at times. What would be a good cover up to hide that?How do I wear and apply makeup?
Analyze your skin to see what type of skin you have: oily, combination, normal, dry, etc. Many cosmetic counters have someone there that can do a preliminary analysis of your skin, and recommend some products. If you are on a budget, see what the professional at the cosmetic counter recommends, then go to your local drug store and find a similar product for way less money!
Start with a freshly-washed face (and hands, too). Get a facial, or do one yourself. You want your face to be a clear and smooth canvas for you, the ';artist,'; to do your art. Use a good deep-cleansing mask. Do not exfoliate if you have oily or sensitive skin. It will spread bacteria around your face from the already existing blemishes. Use antibacterial soap if you have acne. Also be sure that you replace the towel you use to dry your face every week. Lastly, apply toner by taking a cotton pad that has been dampened in warm water and sweep it over your face. Toner will restore the pH level of your skin and pick up any remaining dirt.
Massage a light moisturizer into your face no matter what type skin you have, avoiding the eye area! This will help oily skin dry, and dry skin become smoother. Wait a few minutes for it to soak into your skin. After letting it sit for a while, rinse face with warm water, and pat dry.
Apply a sheer foundation that matches your skin tone.
To find the right one, go to the makeup counter at a local department store and have the artist there help you.
Wear illuminator to make your skin appear youthful and dewy compared with dull, matte makeup. Skin illuminators come in powder, cream, mousse, etc. L'Or茅al, Revlon, Neutrogena, and other brands make them - it's like make up with tiny particles that reflect light.
Use a makeup sponge or wedge, starting around the hairline and working your way down. (Use the wedge for this routine because you can be more precise about where the make up goes.) If you want a proper look that looks as if it has been done by a professional makeup artist, try using a foundation brush.
Remember to apply the makeup all the way down to your throat area and keep blending so you can't see where the make up ends. Nothing is worse than looking like you have a mask on your face!
Around the eye area, do very light strokes inward, toward the inner corner of your eye. Don't apply it to your upper eyelid! All of the professional makeup artists say not to apply foundation to this area. This is why you need a foundation that matches your skin. If you want foundation to darken your skin then try putting it above your eyes, and see what you like. Be gentle with this part, because the skin is very delicate and sensitive here.
Remember to blend all the makeup into your hairline. (but not so that your hair is another color!)
Apply concealer to any red or discolored spots. In the corners of your eyes, where it's blue, and around the nostrils are good places for this. Do this after applying foundation, so you don't use too much (many makeup artists do this the other way around). First apply the concealer, then pat very lightly with your finger to blend. Only apply concealer to the area that you want to conceal. Afterwards, use the wedge to blend the concealer in with the foundation. Stand back away from your mirror to see if you have effectively concealed the areas. Try to stand about the distance away from the mirror that you stand away from people when you talk to them. Another way to conceal blemishes is to pat green concealer on the blemishes and red spots, then put foundation over top (the green reduces redness).
Apply a loose powder all over the face using a powder brush. Pat it into the powder; then, with a paper towel, tap the brush so the excess falls off the brush. Lightly brush across the whole face. Use a powder puff (small) to apply powder on the upper lid. Apply a bronzer to your forehead, cheeks, and chin, to give a sun-kissed look,if wanted.
Highlight your brow bone and cheek bones by applying a light powder just below the brow, and to the highest part of your cheek.
Apply a small amount of blush to the apples of your cheeks. Smile so you can see the apple of your cheek. Start the application at the apple and drag the blush outward toward your temple, following your cheek bone. Blend the color down a bit below your cheekbone in towards your earlobe.
If you added too much color to the brush, use the clear side of your wedge to blend it in more until the color is faded out a bit. Your cheeks should have a hint of color. You don't want to look like a clown!
Take a fluffy powder brush and blend everything together, so that there are no visible lines or excess powders.
Line your eyes. Lightly pull one closed eyelid straight to the side and line it with a brown or soft black liner. For a more appealing look, apply liner with very light strokes to the upper lid, stroking toward the outer corner of the eye. To blend, use an angle brush. For a more natural look dip the angle brush in some of your darker eyeshadow. Use a very light amount, or use the applicator tip. For the bottom lid, use a very light amount on the outer corner.
Put on the eyeshadow Most eye colors come with two or three colors on the palette. The lighter color is for the lid. The darker color is for the crease on the lid, just below the eye bone. Apply the lighter tone first to the lid, spreading upwards to near the crease. For this, use the applicator that came inside the package. For the darker color, using your eyeshadow brush, dip into eye color and tap the brush to lose the excess. Apply inside the crease of the eye. You can find the crease by looking straight ahead. Your eye makes its own crease. Blend the color toward the outer corner of your eye. Sometimes you can blend it around to the bottom lid, but very lightly. The lightest color is for under the brow bone. Use the applicator to apply right on the brow bone just under the brow line. Make sure to use the larger eyeshadow brush to blend all the colors.
Use eyebrow pencil color that is very close to your natural eyebrow color. Here you just want to fill in missing areas. (It might behoove you to visit a makeup person that can arch your eyebrows correctly. If you've never done it yourself, have someone do it for you.) Your eyebrow should look very natural. If you do apply eyebrow pencil to any part of your eyebrow, use the angled brush to blend it into your brow with very light strokes.
Use a lash curler first before applying any mascara. There are several mascaras to choose from depending on the look you want. If you have short lashes, use a mascara that will add length... if you have thin lashes, use a volumizing mascara. Never pump your mascara brush in and out of the mascara. This causes air pockets. Dip the brush in the mascara once and lightly wipe off the excess onto a paper towel. Looking downward, apply to the top lash with upward strokes. Start with the inner part and work your way outward. Do both eyes with two coats, then let dry. After a few seconds, do the bottom lids. It's better to apply to the very outer part of the lash on the bottom lid. This will open your eye more.
Line your lips with a liner that matches your lip color. Make sure your lip liner pencil is sharpened, but not too sharp. Line around the natural line of your lips. Trying to create a fuller lip by dragging the lip pencil outside your lip line is for professionals. Usually it makes you look like you're just plain bad at applying makeup! After applying your lip pencil to your lip line, rub your lips together so the lip pencil color spreads inside your lips.
Apply lipstick or lip gloss with a brush. It will spread it evenly. It's a good idea to brush your lip brush in your lipstick, then some of your lip gloss for a nice light shine. Blot your freshly painted lips lightly with a tissue.
Use a pressed powder to lightly powder the rest of your face, and the area under your eyes. Use very light pressure. Keep your pressed powder in your purse for touch ups.
[edit] TipsDon't apply harsh colors to cheeks especially if you have larger pores, this will help with the invisibility of your pores. If you don't have visible pores still use this tip because it will look fake and you will get the stripe that is mentioned a few tips down.
Focus on one part, or two at most, of your face. Don't use a bold hue of lipstick with stand-out eyeliner and a bright shade of blush. Instead, zero in on the eyes and lips, or blush/skin. Keep it simple; don't over-do your makeup applications.
Quality is always better than quantity. If you have $50 for your entire face, don't get 10 cheap things, get 4 good-quality things ($25 foundation, $10 mascara, $10 for blush, and then a $5 lip-gloss
When you apply eyeshadow, it's common for specks of color to fall onto your face. This is a pain to get rid of after you've already perfected your foundation. If this happens frequently, apply your eyeshadow first, clean up the mess and then apply foundation. Alternatively, if there are only a few specks, you can just very carefully pick them up off your skin with tweezers.
Eyeshadow sometimes falls onto your eyelashes and on oily skin, and it can smudge underneath your eye. To avoid this, use a make-up wipe or a cotton bud with a little make-up remover on it, and gently sweep it over your eyelashes from root to tip to pick up any leftover eyeshadow.
To prolong your eyeshadow staying power use an eyeshadow base. A really good one is Urban Decay Primer Potion (UK 拢9.50, US $15.) Or you can use a good vitamin E cream (this also moisturizes your skin)
Try to buy non-comedogenic makeup (it won't clog your pores; it says on the back if it's non-comedogenic.)
Make sure all of these colors go with your skin, eyes, and hair colours.

Covergirl Aquasmooth is great. It is easy to put on and it is really natural looking. I have had a number of people comment on how great my skin looks and they usually think that I don't wear makeup. Unfortunately, I'm beginning to sound like a commercial, lol, but I really do recommend it.
As for colors and ways to apply the makeup, you can go to most department stores and get a free makeover. They will probably give you some good tips. JCPenney's is a good place to go because the people aren't usually as snobby as they are at Nordstroms, and they won't make you feel really dumb for not knowing much. You could also ask your girlfriends for a makeover. Many of my female friends love giving makeovers.
Try Mineral Makeup. I like Maybellines Mineral Power line of makeup. I would try the powder to have more coverage.
To find your color, alot of websites have a colormatch type thing where you pick what your skintone, eyecolor, and hair color is and they tell you what shades would look the best. Its a hard thing to find your true color, even I have a hard time and I've been wearing makeup for years now.

Well, I started to wear make-up when I started to enter high school. Anyway, I would start out with the colors that would match my skin tone, and eyes. It would depend on the brand of make-up you are using, I use like maybelline or how you spell it! Lol, anyway, and also, covergirl. Some CG are good and some are not.
1. I put on a little bit of concealer since I had some terrible acne scars from middle school, I wouldn't exactly use my fingers that much because it can cause some oil to the face, I sometimes use them a little and then use a sponge or brush to do my face. You shouldn't put concealor around your eyes like eyelids-I don't know why but I was told that.
2. Then sometimes I would put on foundation and then mineral powder or use powder alone. Blending is the key.
3. Then I would use an eyebrow pencil and do my eyebrows since I hardly have any, I do 4 light strokes and then blend them, then I put on mascara on my eyebrows to make it natural, sometimes I put on eyeshadow on my eyebrows but not all the time.
4.With my eyes, I use an eyeliner, start at the inner eyelid and then start drawing out smoothly toward the outer corner of the eyelid.
5. Then I would use my curler to curl my eyelashes since my eyelashes don't curl, and also, makes your eyes alittle bit bigger and bright I guess. While curling my eyelashes, I count to about 10-30 seconds. I sometimes blowdry my curler for about 7 seconds and then curl my eyelashes because it pretty much helps my eyelashes to stay (not against water though!)
6.Then I put on mascara, I go for volume,definition, length, and separation, I would start at the roots and then toward to the tips. I apply coats and not really let them dry till I am satisfied.
7.Then I apply eyeliner at the bottom, going back %26amp; forth for about 4 times or more at the corner of my eye and then smudge it w/ a sponge.
8.Then i apply mascara on my bottom lashes.
9.When i make a mistake on my eyes, I would use an ear q-tip to clean it up. Usually w/mascara on my eyebrows, if I mess up I clean it up with an ear q-tip along with lotion.
10. And there, I am done =)

Concealer would be the obvious option to hiding your acne scars, however, I recently discovered a great mask that helps exfoliate and get rid of your acne scars (it's long-term, however, so you're not going to see results in like a month)
If you're just starting off with makeup, I'd recommend getting some mascara, pencil eyeliner, blush and lip gloss. Those are items I started up with - As you get more experienced, you should start using liquid eyeliner, lipstick, and of course, eyeshadow. It really depends on what kind of look you are trying to create.
For a natural look, all you need is:
- Concealer
- Foundation (to make skin virtually flawless)
- Eyeliner (line top lids ONLY, lining the bottom will make it more obvious that you're wearing eyeliner)
- Mascara (this could be optional depending on the thickness and the length of your mascara, if your lashes are like mine, which are straight and medium-length, then invest in a good eyelash curler and a curling mascara, or at least one that holds curls well)
- Blush (for a natural flush, however if you already have pink cheeks, there's no need to ever buy blush, except for maybe when you're wearing a frosty lip gloss, which can make your face look washed out)
[If you're not much of a blush person, a bronzer's not a bad idea either)
- Lipstick (for a natural look, either choose a pink-ish nude color or just nude)
- Lip Gloss (optional, depending on whether you want some shine or not, or if you don't like lipstick but would like some color on your lips, choose a natural colored lip gloss [pink, peach, nude])

Analyze your skin to see what type of skin you have: oily, combination, normal, dry, etc. Many cosmetic counters have someone there that can do a preliminary analysis of your skin, and recommend some products. If you are on a budget, see what the professional at the cosmetic counter recommends, then go to your local drug store and find a similar product for way less money!
Start with a freshly-washed face (and hands, too). Get a facial, or do one yourself. You want your face to be a clear and smooth canvas for you, the ';artist,'; to do your art. Use a good deep-cleansing mask. Do not exfoliate if you have oily or sensitive skin. It will spread bacteria around your face from the already existing blemishes. Use antibacterial soap if you have acne. Also be sure that you replace the towel you use to dry your face every week. Lastly, apply toner by taking a cotton pad that has been dampened in warm water and sweep it over your face. Toner will restore the pH level of your skin and pick up any remaining dirt.
Massage a light moisturizer into your face no matter what type skin you have, avoiding the eye area! This will help oily skin dry, and dry skin become smoother. Wait a few minutes for it to soak into your skin. After letting it sit for a while, rinse face with warm water, and pat dry.
Apply a sheer foundation that matches your skin tone.
To find the right one, go to the makeup counter at a local department store and have the artist there help you.
Wear illuminator to make your skin appear youthful and dewy compared with dull, matte makeup. Skin illuminators come in powder, cream, mousse, etc. L'Or茅al, Revlon, Neutrogena, and other brands make them - it's like make up with tiny particles that reflect light.
Use a makeup sponge or wedge, starting around the hairline and working your way down. (Use the wedge for this routine because you can be more precise about where the make up goes.) If you want a proper look that looks as if it has been done by a professional makeup artist, try using a foundation brush.
Remember to apply the makeup all the way down to your throat area and keep blending so you can't see where the make up ends. Nothing is worse than looking like you have a mask on your face!
Around the eye area, do very light strokes inward, toward the inner corner of your eye. Don't apply it to your upper eyelid! All of the professional makeup artists say not to apply foundation to this area. This is why you need a foundation that matches your skin. If you want foundation to darken your skin then try putting it above your eyes, and see what you like. Be gentle with this part, because the skin is very delicate and sensitive here.
Remember to blend all the makeup into your hairline. (but not so that your hair is another color!)
Apply concealer to any red or discolored spots. In the corners of your eyes, where it's blue, and around the nostrils are good places for this. Do this after applying foundation, so you don't use too much (many makeup artists do this the other way around). First apply the concealer, then pat very lightly with your finger to blend. Only apply concealer to the area that you want to conceal. Afterwards, use the wedge to blend the concealer in with the foundation. Stand back away from your mirror to see if you have effectively concealed the areas. Try to stand about the distance away from the mirror that you stand away from people when you talk to them. Another way to conceal blemishes is to pat green concealer on the blemishes and red spots, then put foundation over top (the green reduces redness).
Apply a loose powder all over the face using a powder brush. Pat it into the powder; then, with a paper towel, tap the brush so the excess falls off the brush. Lightly brush across the whole face. Use a powder puff (small) to apply powder on the upper lid. Apply a bronzer to your forehead, cheeks, and chin, to give a sun-kissed look,if wanted.
Highlight your brow bone and cheek bones by applying a light powder just below the brow, and to the highest part of your cheek.
Apply a small amount of blush to the apples of your cheeks. Smile so you can see the apple of your cheek. Start the application at the apple and drag the blush outward toward your temple, following your cheek bone. Blend the color down a bit below your cheekbone in towards your earlobe.
If you added too much color to the brush, use the clear side of your wedge to blend it in more until the color is faded out a bit. Your cheeks should have a hint of color. You don't want to look like a clown!
Take a fluffy powder brush and blend everything together, so that there are no visible lines or excess powders.
Line your eyes. Lightly pull one closed eyelid straight to the side and line it with a brown or soft black liner. For a more appealing look, apply liner with very light strokes to the upper lid, stroking toward the outer corner of the eye. To blend, use an angle brush. For a more natural look dip the angle brush in some of your darker eyeshadow. Use a very light amount, or use the applicator tip. For the bottom lid, use a very light amount on the outer corner.
Put on the eyeshadow Most eye colors come with two or three colors on the palette. The lighter color is for the lid. The darker color is for the crease on the lid, just below the eye bone. Apply the lighter tone first to the lid, spreading upwards to near the crease. For this, use the applicator that came inside the package. For the darker color, using your eyeshadow brush, dip into eye color and tap the brush to lose the excess. Apply inside the crease of the eye. You can find the crease by looking straight ahead. Your eye makes its own crease. Blend the color toward the outer corner of your eye. Sometimes you can blend it around to the bottom lid, but very lightly. The lightest color is for under the brow bone. Use the applicator to apply right on the brow bone just under the brow line. Make sure to use the larger eyeshadow brush to blend all the colors.
Use eyebrow pencil color that is very close to your natural eyebrow color. Here you just want to fill in missing areas. (It might behoove you to visit a makeup person that can arch your eyebrows correctly. If you've never done it yourself, have someone do it for you.) Your eyebrow should look very natural. If you do apply eyebrow pencil to any part of your eyebrow, use the angled brush to blend it into your brow with very light strokes.
Use a lash curler first before applying any mascara. There are several mascaras to choose from depending on the look you want. If you have short lashes, use a mascara that will add length... if you have thin lashes, use a volumizing mascara. Never pump your mascara brush in and out of the mascara. This causes air pockets. Dip the brush in the mascara once and lightly wipe off the excess onto a paper towel. Looking downward, apply to the top lash with upward strokes. Start with the inner part and work your way outward. Do both eyes with two coats, then let dry. After a few seconds, do the bottom lids. It's better to apply to the very outer part of the lash on the bottom lid. This will open your eye more.
Line your lips with a liner that matches your lip color. Make sure your lip liner pencil is sharpened, but not too sharp. Line around the natural line of your lips. Trying to create a fuller lip by dragging the lip pencil outside your lip line is for professionals. Usually it makes you look like you're just plain bad at applying makeup! After applying your lip pencil to your lip line, rub your lips together so the lip pencil color spreads inside your lips.
Apply lipstick or lip gloss with a brush. It will spread it evenly. It's a good idea to brush your lip brush in your lipstick, then some of your lip gloss for a nice light shine. Blot your freshly painted lips lightly with a tissue.
Use a pressed powder to lightly powder the rest of your face, and the area under your eyes. Use very light pressure. Keep your pressed powder in your purse for touch ups.
[edit] TipsDon't apply harsh colors to cheeks especially if you have larger pores, this will help with the invisibility of your pores. If you don't have visible pores still use this tip because it will look fake and you will get the stripe that is mentioned a few tips down.
Focus on one part, or two at most, of your face. Don't use a bold hue of lipstick with stand-out eyeliner and a bright shade of blush. Instead, zero in on the eyes and lips, or blush/skin. Keep it simple; don't over-do your makeup applications.
Quality is always better than quantity. If you have $50 for your entire face, don't get 10 cheap things, get 4 good-quality things ($25 foundation, $10 mascara, $10 for blush, and then a $5 lip-gloss
When you apply eyeshadow, it's common for specks of color to fall onto your face. This is a pain to get rid of after you've already perfected your foundation. If this happens frequently, apply your eyeshadow first, clean up the mess and then apply foundation. Alternatively, if there are only a few specks, you can just very carefully pick them up off your skin with tweezers.
Eyeshadow sometimes falls onto your eyelashes and on oily skin, and it can smudge underneath your eye. To avoid this, use a make-up wipe or a cotton bud with a little make-up remover on it, and gently sweep it over your eyelashes from root to tip to pick up any leftover eyeshadow.
To prolong your eyeshadow staying power use an eyeshadow base. A really good one is Urban Decay Primer Potion (UK 拢9.50, US $15.) Or you can use a good vitamin E cream (this also moisturizes your skin)
Try to buy non-comedogenic makeup (it won't clog your pores; it says on the back if it's non-comedogenic.)
Make sure all of these colors go with your skin, eyes, and hair colours.

My male friend is dressing like a woman for Halloween and he wants me to help him with his makeup. I have no idea how to put makeup on a man. Should I just put the same amounts and types that I use on myself? His skin is very different from mine. I have no idea....

The whole a guy dressing up as a woman is to make it look funny. You don't need to put foundation on or anything like that, but go heavy on the eyeliner, eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick. Putting mascara on him wouldn't be bad either.
Make it all messy if you dont know how how itll be funny blue eye shadow and red lip stick would be really funny lol
Go for the Rocky Horror Picture Show look.

To put make-up on pics in the past i've imported a high quality pic of a woman with the make-up i wanted to use.( have both pics side by side) i use the clone tool (zoomed way in for more control) and it'll replicate the makeup exactly. U should create a new layer for the make-up so that u can control the opacity and fade so that it looks realistic.

Well, if you hate it, you'll see many such common scenes in Japan when you take the trains. Personally, I don't do that out of respect for other commuters who may feel uneasy.

Ugh yeah. The other day I found myself a nice comfy (haha) seat on the train, away from anyone else. Next station, a woman in her mid thirties gets on and sits opposite me. She took a whole bloody bag of makeup out - not just some mascara or eyeshadow, but the whole friggin' load: cream, foundation, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, lipgloss - and started applying it. It took her around 30 minutes, by which time I had already arrived at my station.
I think it麓s very selfish of them. I don't do it, I do it at home, so why the hell can麓t they?
I wouldn't call it digusting. Opposed to brushing one's hair it isn't causing any impairment to another traveller's personal appearance or journey (I was referring to little hairs that may be shed) applying make up doing affect you at all. Women have a lot more social pressures to look good and feel good about themselves and applying make up is one of those little mediums to do so. Also women often have the same amount of time to get ready as a man and twice as many things to do in that time.
Everyone has their little annoyances. Some people don't like people texting or calling people on public transport. Some people don't like others to talk to them. Some don't like people eating next to them. You will never be able to win in this situation as unlike those cases, its not noisy and if you don't like to see it, just don't look at them!
What do you expect? That we all should sit there in silence, avoiding eye contact and with our hands in our laps?

Yes, using the airbrush tool and changing the opacity, scale, rate and pressure will do nicely. I also recommend using the Smudge tool to really smooth everything out, again lessen the opacity. Depending on what kind of photo this is you may be able to get away with using just the smudge tool. I also recommend trying the Blur/Sharpen tool. You may not need it, but it's another good tool to try.
Oh, and don't feel you need to use all the tools I mentioned. Each photo is different, despite having the same subject matter. Play around until you get the desired effect.

6.i put on eyeshadow i usually use an Estee Lauder eye shadow in honey drop

The concealer I use is called Boing! by Benefit. They sell it at Sephora. It is an ';industrial strength'; concealer, and stays on all day! It is about $20 for one, though my last one lasted me an entire year! I highly recommend it!
Also, to help your eyeshadow stay on, check out a Neutrogena product called Skin Soothing Eye Tints. They come in really pretty, neutral pearly shades, and feel really cool when you put it on :) I used to wear it alone without eyeshadow. But if you choose to also wear eyeshadow over top of it, it helps the shadow stay on. You can buy this anywhere, Target, Walgreens, Walmart..etc. and is around $7.00.

I want to know how i can get that ';natural look'; without spending too much money/time and still look good. I am a bit sheltered and am pretty dumb when it comes to makeup so when you explain don't use makeup words, use body parts like ';cheekbones'; or something like that. I have long dark brown hair that comes halfway down my shoulders. I have dark brown eyes, and I have pretty clear skin or what could be considered normal skin, It is oily in some places and get dry in some areas. My eyebrows are thicker and are dark brown. The artists at the Mac counter did that for me and they pick out the perfect colors and products for you. I've heard that other makeup counters in the mall do this as well like Clinique, but the first time I tried makeup it was at Mac and I've been hooked ever since. They can also tell you the best way to apply those eyelashes.
The only thing is if you chose to have Mac do this for you, you have to buy at least one of their products. I don't know if this is the same at Clinique or other counters.

Hey! I know what you mean... when you first start to put on makeup it is hard to get the hang of. It all depends on what kind of makeup you want to wear. If you want to wear COVER UP or FOUNDATION, make sure it matches your skin perfectly. You want to make it blend into your skin so you dont have a line from where you have makeup and where you dont. It is an unflattering and unnatural line. If you would like to wear BLUSH do not put it on your cheeks. You should put it on your cheek bones, nose, and a bit on your forehead and chin... but NOT TOO MUCH! mainly put it on your cheek bones to start. If you want to do eyeshaddow, i have many tips for you: 1. dont try to match your eye color. It will make your eyes look dull. If you contrast it then your eyes will stand out and look brighter. 2. Dont try to match your shirt color. It can sometimes be pulled off but sometimes your shirt is just too bright or too crazy to match. 3. Less is more. Literally.. If you want to wear EYELINER, put it on as little as possible. If you put it on thick or all over you will look tired - and possibly scary! If you want to wear MASCARA, put it on but try not to get it to clump. Also, for the first 20 seconds or so after you put it on, try not to blink so the mascara wont rub off or your eyelids. Lastly, if you want to wear stuff on your lips, i suggest wearing lipgloss. With your age, you dont want to wear anything too drastic. Well I hope this has helped! I personally think at a young age you don't really need a lot of makeup. I'm aroundyour age too, and I just wear lots of mascara and curl it instead of wearing loads of eyeliner. I think eyeliner is risky because it can actually make your eyes look smaller if you wear too much of it. Wearing a eyeliner on the top of your eyes only is a good way to brighten and enlarge your eyes. Colored lip gloss is my personal favorite... just make sure not to have a huge brown goop on your lips because that doesn't look so appealing. a light hint of blush can help brighten your face too.
If you prefer to do something more than that, you should go to beauty stores such as MAC, Sephora, etc. and ask them for advice :]

Go to one of your friends or the people at the mall or even your mom or if you have a sister they'd work too =] The trick to wearing make-up is to make it look like you're not wearing it at all. Don't learn to put on loads of eyeliner becuase it makes you look trashy with too much. With mascara just kinda go over your eye lashes. For founmdation make sure you really even it out and spread it out. When i first learned to put on makeup I put on a lot of foundation and it made me look terriable becuase i didn't put on the right ammound and i didn't rub it in and even it out.

I am an 11 Year old girl and i am younger than you but i have been putting on make-up since i was 5. Since you have blue eyes i suggest some brown eyeshadow but don't apply too much of it because it will look dumb. I love this store called Ulta. They have a ton of brands from L'oreal to Smashbox. Here is a list of what I would consider essential basic items for doing eyeshadow, excluding brushes.

I don't wear much makeup at all, but have a small collection. The rules for wearing makeup which I thought were okay for church got me labled a ';drag queen'; by my sister in law. Since then I've not figured out the right way to wear make up, what colors I should be in, or what I should buy. How can I get these answers for my dishwater blond, fair skined aged 31 person that I am? Also when my kids are of age (who are not old enough yet) to wear makeup, where should I send them so they get the right advise about how to apply it etc. This is one mother who is clueless for both herself and in about 4-5 years for my oldest who would then be old enough to start wearing it. I've resorted to walking around with my ugly skin exposed rather than having cakey makeup all over it. I've tried and tried but it just cakes especially when I put powder over it to control the shine. Yet I see others with smooth flawless makeup applied so I'm getting upset that I can't do it myself. Use your foundation and powder SPARINGLY. The buildup is coming from layering on too much in an attempt to cover up flaws on your face.

That will definitely help to cut down on the use of powder, plus they don't disturb makeup when you press them to your face [no rubbing!] so you don't have to apply more foundation throughout the day. okay first of makeup brands do matter however u can still get flawless looking skin from a drugstore brand foundation but there are a few tricks to it first wash ur face with a cleanser to get rid of nay dirt or oil , then use a oil-free moisturizer and soften ur skin then use foundation (dont use powder for heavy cover up coz powder will always make ur skin look cakey , powders are used for very light coverup or to finish off a makeup look so apllying alot of powder makes any face look cakey) but i suggest using foundation and i personally recommend u try either almay clear complexion foundation (whihc helps prevent oil to come back) or maybelline dream matte mousse foundation (which gives u a flawless finish with out making ur face look oily) but anyway apply the foundation with a makeup sponge whihc helps control excess amount plus helps absorb oil aswell after ur done applying the foundation u may use a very little amount of powder if u want to give it a natural dewy look but u dont have too but if u do use very little amount of powder (and i suugest u try maybelline mineral power powder) just dap a little bit and tap the brush to make sure the excess comes off then use the brush in a circular motion to blend it in very well bu they key is to use very little amount to finish off the look but i suggest u should just use foundation coz foundation never gives a cakey look hope this helps

Do you have acne? Because that makes foundation more noticeable sometimes if you use too much.
I suggest going to a makeup store, like Sephora (my favorite lol) and getting your makeup done for free and having them help you pick out the right colors and brand for your type of skin. If you want results, sometimes you gotta spend a little more money. But TRUST ME, the flawless skin is definitely worth it . Hope I helped :)

Eyeliner Application

4. Be wary if your eyeliner pencil tip is quite dry, as this may pull at delicate eye tissue. Draw the line with care if this is the case.
Liquid Eyeliner
1. Liquid eyeliner comes in a bottle rather like ink, and you must use a separate brush to apply. The best result will come from a point liner brush.
2. It is natural to close your eye as you draw the line, but if you keep it open, it will actually make it easier to follow the curve of your lid and thus have a straighter line.
3. You do not need to try and paint a continuous line with liquid eyeliner. It is actually easier to pain a few small dashes onto the lash line, eg. Inner corner, middle and outer corner, then go back and connect them.
4. If you want a thicker line than this initial thin one, build it up gradually. Start at the middle of the lash line and draw towards the outer corner. You can extend the line slightly past the outer corner of your eyelid if you wish.
Common Eyeliner Mistakes:

eyeliner from centre to outside on top lid and just lesson the bottom. if you have quite Small eyes where it under your eyelashes on the bottom. unless you have dark skin don't use black. I am dark blond and I use dark brown or grey. blend the edges in too, makes it look better. As for eyeshadow, cover the whole area underneath your eyebrow in a light shade, nothing too noticeable just to lift the area. then apply your chosen colour over it but don't go above the crease above you're eye. If you go to a beauty counter they sometimes teach, I used to work for the body shop, try one of their shops, they are very good.

Make sure you have a good mirror and lighting so that you can properly see what you are doing when using the eyeliner.
Eyeliner Pencil
1. The eyeliner pencil should be able to draw a thin, unbroken line along your skin - test it on your hand or arm first. Either sharpen it until the line is thin enough, or if it is too thin, draw a line on a tissue, which will make the tip blunter.
2. You should hold the eyeliner pencil as you would hold a pencil or pen to write with, usually with your dominant hand. Use your other hand to stretch the eye you are going to line from the outer corner. You can rest your hand holding the pencil against the hand pulling your lid taut.
3. Don't try to focus on your whole eye lid at one time - just look at the part you are drawing on. The line should be just above your eye lashes on the top lid and just below on the bottom, and should extend just to the outer corner of your eye.
4. Be wary if your eyeliner pencil tip is quite dry, as this may pull at delicate eye tissue. Draw the line with care if this is the case.
Liquid Eyeliner
1. Liquid eyeliner comes in a bottle rather like ink, and you must use a separate brush to apply. The best result will come from a point liner brush.
2. It is natural to close your eye as you draw the line, but if you keep it open, it will actually make it easier to follow the curve of your lid and thus have a straighter line.
3. You do not need to try and paint a continuous line with liquid eyeliner. It is actually easier to pain a few small dashes onto the lash line, eg. Inner corner, middle and outer corner, then go back and connect them.
4. If you want a thicker line than this initial thin one, build it up gradually. Start at the middle of the lash line and draw towards the outer corner. You can extend the line slightly past the outer corner of your eyelid if you wish.
Common Eyeliner Mistakes:
If you do make a mistake while applying liner in either pencil or liquid form, then it is easily corrected - just keep some eye makeup remover close to hand, and gently dab at the area you wish to remove with a small amount on the end.How do you apply makeup to look like the people in magazines eyeshadow mainly how do you wear eyeliner?

eyeliner from centre to outside on top lid and just lesson the bottom. if you have quite Small eyes where it under your eyelashes on the bottom. unless you have dark skin don't use black. I am dark blond and I use dark brown or grey. blend the edges in too, makes it look better. As for eyeshadow, cover the whole area underneath your eyebrow in a light shade, nothing too noticeable just to lift the area. then apply your chosen colour over it but don't go above the crease above you're eye. If you go to a beauty counter they sometimes teach, I used to work for the body shop, try one of their shops, they are very good.

go to the mall and ask a make up counter girl and ask if she could show you (sorry i cant tell you but it's kindof hard to explain)
