Do you have any tips on applying makeup of any sort?

decide what you want to stand out, eyes cheeks or lips. not all at once,go light on the two you don't want to stand out. when i need to talk w/someone(i am stay at home mom) such as teacher,principal,doctors.... i make my eyes stand out, then i know i command the attention of the person i am speaking to,they are looking in my eyes. robinDo you have any tips on applying makeup of any sort?
less is better.after i apply the liquid makeup i usually go over it with toilet paper . The reason why is because it gets rid of the excess. I never do my neck. I hope that helps.Do you have any tips on applying makeup of any sort?
start with a clean face and all the make up you need at yuor hands so that you don't need to go to a different room. first apply base with a makeup wedge (found in the cosmetic section at almost all stores). after that blend in concealer that is identical shade to the foundation that you a re wearing, if your base hasn't already covered blemishes. then apply a little bit of blush, if you'd like, but nothing bright and bizarre. then apply eyliner on you eyes with a brush on you top lid and stick on bottom, and smudge. then dusk eyeshadow on with a brush or maybe your fingertip, depending on the effect you want( you can also buy smudge brushes instead of your finger). then a apply a layer or two with the brush in the bottle, then make sure to take a clean brush (eyebrow brushes work) so that you don't have a bunch of clumps. you can also add a bit of shimmer on your cheekbones instead of blush. add a liitle setting powder and your finished.
First and foremost, a CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN face, and a good moisturizer.

But really, answering this would take a very long time. I suggest getting a good, basic book on makeup... my personal favorite is Bobbi Brown Beauty, because she spends a lot of time emphasizing the importance of still looking like you even with makeup. You can find this at any Barnes and Noble, Borders, etc. You can also look at her website which has a section on ';looks and tips.';

She breaks down makeup into easy steps, and encourages the appropriate level and amount for what you are wearing makeup for (sunday afternoon picnic vs. job interview vs. girl's night out). Becaue makeup isn't about totally about the application process, it's about the intended effect.

Good luck!
Your foundation should match your skin tone as closely as possible.

The natural look is in - go with shades that highlight your features without actually coloring them.

If you go dark on the eyes, go light on the lips - if you go dark or bright on the lips, then use light colors on the eyes.

Less is more.
If you would like to have some great tips on applying makeup I have some great ones on my Mary Kay website. Please feel free to have a look. Best of luck!!!!
1.First wash your face.

2.Then apply some cocoa butter or vaseline to smooth out your face.

(If you want to wear liquid foundation put it on BEFORE you apply any foundation)

3. Apply a base foundation .. like maybelline matte mousse.

4. smooth the base foundation in .

5. Use a makeupbrush (for good coverage) to apply regular foundation.

6. Smooth it all over your face. make sure you put equal amounts of each side of your face.
For eye shadow, blush, and concealer, use fingers! It turns out a lot more natural-looking.
Concealer, foundation, powder. Very light, and to get a more translucent look with coverage, apply liquid foundation with a damp sponge. Always make sure that your face and neck are the same color. We dont wanna look like you fell face first into flour.
