Tips for applying makeup to someone else?

My sister's wedding is on Saturday and I have inherited the responsibility of doing the makeup for my mom and 3 sisters. I am really good at putting makeup on myself, but I have a hard time working with my mom, whose at 53 has sun damaged, aging skin. I have an especially hard time on her eyes because her eyelids are extremely loose and wrinkly. Any tips? Products?Tips for applying makeup to someone else?
For your mom, I suggest being patient. I've done makeup for older women, and you just have to take your time. If you're doing eyeliner make sure to get the creamiest eyeliner you can and to slowly stroke it over her eye. Use a q-tip and gently straighten her eye as you go so you get your line.

Another, easier, way to do it is to just smudge it into her lashline and then have her open her eye. The use a q-tip dipped into makeup remover (make sure to wipe of the excess - of it's dripping with remover it will make a mess of her eye) to clean up the line and to straighten it. You may have to re do the the line, but I find this to be the easiest method for me.

For her skin, use a soft foundation brush and a fluffy powder brush.

For her eyeshadow pat a MATTE eyeshadow (matte eyeshadows are more flaterring to lids with wrinkles) over her eye. Try not to use bright colors, try neutrals instead.

Also, make sure to tell your mom she needs to use sunscreen and suggest an eye cream for her like Roc.
