Shop assistants applying makeup at work, appropriate or inappropriate?

I'm just realizing more and more shop assistants is applying make-up while at work, especially ones that sell beauty products like the body shop. It sort of puts me off the products seeing the assistant(s) just applying some of the testers while there are customers in the shop (and the testers aren't there for they're own personal use). Can't they just do their makeup at home like most people do. I was a shop assistant before and I never had the need to do my makeup at my work. What do you think is it acceptable or just plain inappropriate?Shop assistants applying makeup at work, appropriate or inappropriate?
I am an ex make-up consultant and yes, it is inappropriate.

A cosmetic girl does need to keep her make-up fresh due to the nature of the job but there are plenty of places to do it privately e.g beauty rooms, staff room etc.

It is actually discouraged by the individual companies and the girls would be in trouble if their Area Managers walked into the shop and saw them doing it!Shop assistants applying makeup at work, appropriate or inappropriate?
I used to be a cosmetic consultant for (15 years) and we only used to get one break a day.So sometimes I had to put concealer or lip gloss on while on the shop floor. But I always did it discretely.I always kept my own supply on the shop floor,I wasn't using random testers.I value my health!!!I wasn't really allowed to leave the shop floor and the lipstick didn't last 8 hours no matter what the companies say!
Slathering/Applying unneeded makeup with a spatula is the truly inappropriate part. Succumbing to rampant social conditioning and forcing it (literally) in the faces of women is also very inappropriate.
i tihnk its inappropiate...tell the managers to send their *** to the bathroom...its disrespectful to the customers
inappropriate
